Alexander Hamilton stated, “It has been observed that a pure democracy if it were practicable would be the most perfect government. Experience has proved that no position is more false than this. The ancient democracies in which the people themselves deliberated never possessed one good feature of government. Their very character was tyranny; their figure deformity.” A democracy, also known as a republican government, has been implemented in many societies. It grants every citizen their voice and furthers political equality amongst all. It supports our decision…
The government -controlled by a group of people- stands behind every nation’s failure and success. Its main purpose is to improve or maintain the wellbeing of the nations all over the world. The government’s duty is to protect, to ensure a place for home and means of living hood, and to keep peace between other countries. This is the reason why it is important to have the right leaders in our country. Every country has its own kind of government - based on economics, politics or authority - but there is a possible method to be allied with each other. The majority of people think that a great government is chosen by its citizens, which will allow changes and improvement. For example, when it comes to laws ,civilians do not want to have conditions…
Representative democracy means the selection of government officials by a vote of the people in periodic elections open to competition in which candidates and voters can freely express themselves (quote). In other words, this is like the United States currently is. When elections are held, candidates run for election and voters vote to determine what candidate is the best for the job. The elected official will then represent the people in which he serves and vote on issues that are presented.…
It is a government for the people, by the people. When every citizen gets a choice in what happens, there isn't much room for executive corruption. One downside of a true democracy is that it isn't sustainable with large populations, nor with an international government. Even today, if a small country were a true democracy, then there would be so many international decisions made on a daily basis that all the citizens would be doing is making decisions on behalf of their country. That's where a representative democracy comes into play. The people elect people that they trust the most to make decisions for them so that the country can…
Government is defined by the Webster Dictionary as "the system by which a state or community is governed." In America that system is democracy. It is a system which allows for personal freedom and the ability for one individual to make a difference. Democracy will by definition always follow the will of the majority. John Adams declares that "the form of government which communicates ease, comfort, security, or, in one word, happiness, to the greatest number of persons, and in the greatest degree, is the best." Democracy ensures that by giving people the chance to have their say in the public arena. They participate intimately in politics but give elected leaders to stand in for them on the day to day details.…
Although it seems like direct democracy would give an accurate representation of the population, a representative democracy provides more fair and equal decisions. This is because representatives can make decisions while keeping the minority in mind. In a direct democracy, the majority will always come out on top, simply because there are more people. Also, representatives are not emotionally invested in every issue, so they can make more logical and rational decisions. People often prioritize their values and beliefs over the welfare of others when voting on representatives, and they will do the same when they vote on important issues.…
A democracy is when the common people are considered as the primary source of political power. Although democracy and absolutism had advantages and disadvantages, democracy was a more effective type of government for it limited royal power and protected the rights of the people socially, politically, and economically. Throughout the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, tension arose between the two different types of governments, the democracy and absolute monarchs.…
In a true democratic society, it is essential to ensure a government that follows the will of the people and not the one that force the people to follow it, that is, a “government of the people, by the people, and for the people” as said by Abraham Lincoln in his Gettysburg address which lasted a little over two minutes on November, 19, 1863. Democracy is not government of some people by some people and for some people as a frequent practise in some developing nations. Democracy is a nation ruled by its citizenry. The beauty of democracy is that the minority will have their say but the majority will have their way. Functioning democracy implies where the people approve to the government operating the nation. All eligible voters are given chance to select their leader through their right to vote and to be voted for. In a truly democratic society, the representative or candidate who have been elected are liable in many ways to the people who voted and elected them. They have to implement those pledges made during elections with much transparency, accountability and good governance.…

In my opinion a good government is many things. Firstly I feel a government should always make decisions that is best for the people they are making decisions for; an example you and I. The types of decisions that would keep us safe from harm, safe from scrutiny, persecution, racism and so on. The most important thing I feel as far as a good government would be keeping the country they are leading safe from recession, from collapse, and most importantly from extinction. What I think a good government should do. I feel a good government should create jobs, or make it easier for “people” to create jobs. I feel the government should secondly try and keep from borrowing from other countries, I feel due to this we are lacking in major presence globally because we are in a sense “broke”.…
The United States is said to be and has the properties of a democracy. A democracy is defined as a government in which the people decide matters directly through town hall meetings or voting on a ballot box. There have been a few major laws passed that have been passed by Supreme Court in which the people didn’t have a vote or consent on the law. Two examples of this are legalizing gay marriage and gun laws. The United States has also in a way turned into an oligarchy. It has come to where the rich are starting to rule the country. If the U.S was truly a democracy the government would look to all of the people for their vote and consent on a law, and their should be equality between the first, middle, and lower class people.…
Imagine living in a place where the government is all a Democracy in all parts of the world. Democracy is a system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members of a state, typically through elected representatives. Democracy is a strong form of government because it prevents monopoly of authority, it makes for a responsible and stable administration, and it allows a little chance of revolution.…
Is Democracy worthy of being called a strong government? Out of 192 countries 123 of them are a Democracy. Many people think that it is a strong government because the United States uses it, also other governments can work but overall Democracy is just the best one to use. Democracy is often used to mean a society, in which everyone is treated equally. Democracy is a strong form of government because it allows freedom, gives people the right to vote, and people can voice out their issues.…

“I’m very highly educated. I know words, I have the best words…”(Trump). Phrases like these, are exactly the ones causing controversy in social media and national television over the 2016 presidential candidates nominees. For the 2016’s presidential candidate election, there’s Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders for the Democrats; and Ted Cruz, John Kasich, and Donald Trump on the Republican side. Inappropriate comments during debates, major differences in political experience among the candidates, feminism, and gender differences are some of the issues discussed by the general public in social media and late night shows on television. Although politics exists to improve the government, the 2016 political campaigns have shifted their focus from…
