I have chosen Centerville ISD as the school to complete my Field Experience 1 for this semester. Centerville Elementary has a different setup than the average school. Because of the low population, 1st-3rd grade classes are located in one building. Each class rotates throughout the day to three different teachers. Each teacher teaches two subjects. My mentor teacher, Mrs. Childress, teaches reading in the morning and science in the afternoon. The three teachers create a collaborative environment for the students. The small building has 4 classrooms, 1 is used as a computer lab/library for all the classes.…
Allowing a child to explore outdoors is essential as it gives them the opportunity to use their imagination, it helps to promote original thinking, they can adapt to different situations, discover the ability to generate multiple solutions to problems that…
The reality is that most students never have the chance to travel outside the state of Georgia. Some may have never traveled outside the city they were born in. This, to many people, may be unacceptable. Everyone deserves the opportunity to experience an event outside of their comfort zone. Our school has the convenience to provide them with the opportunity. Pupils would appreciate this opportunity and be grateful to the school. As a result, they may even begin to excel in their…
Practitioners should effectively plan activities to give children the opportunity to explore, discover and investigate an activity example could be taken place outside as there is many types of nature that children will find fascinating, from activities such as this the child will gain their personal ‘understanding of the world’. When learning through play this gives the child motivation and potential as they are enjoying what they are doing. From play the child gains the confidence to approach tasks willingly and feel they are able to ‘try’ without the fear of failure. The importance of socialising is so that the child can improve their communication and language but also they are able to learn from their peers and are able to work effectively as a group, children gain the confidence to share their ideas and wishes with trusted people around them and sharing their own ideas and input into the activity giving the child a feeling of importance and knowing they are being listened to improves their…

Through travel we learn about ourselves and others. Camping taught me that I do not like mosquitos, Quebec taught me people from different cultures can be uncompromising, and in South Carolina I learned I’m afraid of the ocean.…

In the Mead Gardens, we used minnow traps to catch multiple species of fish and then put them in a glass jar to identify their characteristics and species. In the Florida Keys, we went snorkeling and we also catch fish with gillnet and then put them in jars and in a bucket to identify them. Overall, I am so thrilled I was able to apart of all of these field trips because it further my knowledge of different species of fishes and how to identify them. I would recommend this trip to further classes and do not think anything should…
In school, I favor particular subjects like math and science. These subjects help stimulate my mind by solving the problems and determining the answer. Some other activities like doing crossword puzzles and word searches helps my brain think at a faster pace. Whenever my school takes the class to field trips to NASA or museums, I am very intrigued by the experience. I want to become an Emergency Room Doctor, so those type of field trips can benefit me in my future.…
The money for the trip would be spent wisely because because the trip would give students a chance to learn while outside of school. The time away could give students a break from school related stress such as grades, and allow them to focus more on what they need to improve and how they could do so. If the trip takes away from important study time, or is scheduled on the same day as a test, then the trip or the test could be rescheduled for another time where nothing major is going on.…
A majority of students from around the world tend to train themselves during their college years under one subject. But what if there is a chance for you to learn more, by paying the same amount for just one single course. A liberal arts education gives a broad knowledge base by increasing your frame of reference. It also helps you exercise your mind, problem-solve and generate new ideas. This type of education can prepare you for many fields in today’s workplace. A liberal arts degree provides an inherent advantage in written and oral communication, interpersonal skills, problem solving, critical and analytical thinking, and adaptability to change,” says JP Hansen.…

Travelling the world is another way in which worthwhile learning occurs. Travelling the world allows you to see how other people around the world live. When you see how other people in other countries live it can really let you see how fortunate you are and allows you to appreciate the things you have. When you see how other people live it can also open your eyes to see how you could be living your life instead of how you are living your life. You can also see how hard other people work and it can inspire you to work harder in your life. You can also see other cultures or religions and you can appreciate other people’s way of life. Travelling is a way in which worthwhile learning can occur.…
