Lava Beds National Monument: Field Trip
Dear, middle school principal

Lava beds national monument is a good option for a field trip, it is a good option because it could provide geological and scientific opportunities, would be an exciting experience for students and teachers, and it might get students interested in science. Lava beds national monument is a wide range of caverns beside Yellowstone national park in California. Lava beds national monument consist of over 700 caves, lava flowing tunnels, and places where rock has been eroded away. Lava beds national monument can provide a scientific opportunity because it is filled with lava streams, minerals and rocks such as crystals, and is special to that place only. Lava beds national monument stretches 47 thousands acres of caves and caverns that are full wonders. Even though the place has lava flowing around the average temperature is only 55° …show more content…
The money for the trip would be spent wisely because because the trip would give students a chance to learn while outside of school. The time away could give students a break from school related stress such as grades, and allow them to focus more on what they need to improve and how they could do so. If the trip takes away from important study time, or is scheduled on the same day as a test, then the trip or the test could be rescheduled for another time where nothing major is going on.
With this I conclude that Lava beds national monument would be an educational and exciting field trip for school. Lava beds national monument could provide scientific opportunities for students who are interested in the scientific field. It could also intrigue students not interested in science or school for that matter, to begin learning and think about studying

    Hiking has always been a favorite past time of mine. In my hiking experience I have had the pleasure of hiking many beautiful state parks, none of which compares to Turkey Run state park in my opinion.
