-Assess patients nutritional and health needs
- Counsel patients on nutrition issues and healthy eating habits
-Develop meal and nutrition plans
-Promote better health by speaking to groups about diet, nutrition, and relationships between good eating habits and preventing or managing specific diseases.
-Create educational materials about healthy food choices

The main goal for a dietitian is to be able to educate and provide nutritional guidance to their client. Duties can vary from one-on-one counseling with a diabetic patient, to speaking to a large group of kids about importance of nutrients and how to make healthy choices. They can work for hospitals, clinics or even have a private practice. Dietitians play a very important role in society as well. They make society aware and help prevent future health issues due to unhealthy eating habits.
