Distracted driving is more common among the younger generations. According to statistics, “11% of all drivers under the age of 20 involved in fatal crashes were reported as distracted at the time of the crash. For drivers 15-19 years old involved in fatal crashes, 21 percent of the distracted drivers were distracted by the use of cell phones.” The law on using a cell phone while driving being illegal was established due to these staggering numbers. I believe this is more of a deterrent than anything else that has been done. People will see it and continue to do what they do. Most people don 't realize the danger of this until something happens to them, a family member, or friend of theirs. The new law that was passed is the best thing that could have been done because who wants to get a ticket?
