I know it’s hard to keep your phone off while driving because you never know if someone really needs to get a hold of you. It is better to wait and answer your phone when you have the time to reply, this rule is actually in the driver’s education book but not many people know or remember this rule. It is just recently since phones have become more popular that they have to enforce this rule more often. Turning off your phone isn’t the only thing you can do to not be distracted from the road.
If you have to keep your phone on for some reason and you have to answer a call or text then pull over to the side of the road or the nearest gas station. No call or text is that important to answer while driving and endanger your life and someone else's. It would be better if they made it illegal nationwide to text and drive or talk and drive. It may upset a lot of people but it would protect a lot of people and teens from getting injured and killed.
