Dubeauty And A Beast Analysis
It might seem like ¨Wonder¨ and ¨Beauty and a Beast¨ are very different kinds of stories. One is fairy tale from a long time ago and one is a story about a little boy with a birth defect. But if you look a little closer you will see they both share a common theme. In both stories, the authors teach us that it doesn’t matter what you look like on the outside, but it matters what you look like on the inside.

In ¨Wonder¨ the author shows us that even if you have a birth defect that changes what you look like you still are beautiful on the inside. In the beginning and in the middle, Auggie the main character has a birth defect and he thinks that the way he looks is horrible. Towards the end of the book, Auggie starts to realize that he is beautiful on the outside and the inside. The lesson is to think of yourself as a beautiful person not a horrible person.

In the book the author, R.J. Palacio talked a lot about the main character's background, 1st person narrator, and description. The book is about a fifth grader named Auggie who has a disease that makes his face looks deformed. Auggie has a big problem making new friends because whenever someone looks at him they always make some kind of face. Most kids that do, don’t actually tease him they just can’t help but stop and stare. Auggie once grew his bangs out just so he couldn't see what people looked like when they saw his face.…

With much assistance from her new friends, Belle uses her idealistic personality to draw the beast out of his isolation, and eventually break the curse. Belle uses her optimism, bravery, and imagination to save the characters within the castle. If Belle did not have the personality of an idealist, the outcome of the story could have ended in numerous different ways. She uses her optimism to give the characters hope. She uses her bravery to stand up to her violent village. She uses her imagination to help her become open to the idea of saving the castle before it is too late. The reader should learn from the writer the importance of not only one’s self esteem but also others as well. Treating someone the way that you want to be treated is the best thing to do, because everything is observed by others, who are just as judgmental as you are being. Just because someone doesn’t look like you on the outside doesn’t mean that they aren’t the same as you in the inside and they have feelings as well, everyone is meant to be different apart from us in this world. People should also treat others with respect because there is no reason that you shouldn’t when they show you the same respect. The last thing I would think that people would take from this story is that no matter what a single person looks like, in life people and things…

After finishing this audiobook I have found out the ending. In the end, Belle got out of the castle to save her mother who had been tortured out of her magic and deprived of food. She was held captive in an Insane asylum along with others who were wrongly accused of being “insane.” It was definitely something totally different from Disney's version. In the Disney's version, everyone from the castle turns back to how they were before. But in this version the Beast did not turn back he decided that instead of turning back into human form he rather have his servants back into humans while he stayed in beast form. This showed the character development because in the beginning he was known for being selfish and self-centered like how most royalties…

At this point, I think the author’s overall intended message was that making fun of someone’s looks can have a very serious effect on the person’s life and their self-image. The reason I chose this text is because I was bullied as a kid for being heavier. Bullying can include making fun of one’s looks, which still happens today with devastating results of suicide. This text reveals this experience through the use of the characters point of view. Her classmate told her she had a great big nose and fat legs to which she saw herself as ugly and to be “beautiful” she cut off both her nose and legs (Piercy…

Have you ever been dissatisfied about your physical appearance, such as by not being tall enough, having perfect skin, having beautiful hair, or just simply having your dream body like models out there? Some people don’t just want to be “average” or “normal,” some want to stand out and get noticed. Some people will do anything to get there by doing things to themselves just to get people to notice their appearance. Others are not as lucky and don’t have a “normal” appearance or even come close to it. After living with deformities for so long, some people stop caring about their appearance after a while. Society stereotypes and rejects people who have deformities because they appear different; whether or not the person is actually good or bad. Some people believe that a deformed person is evil because their outward appearance reflects their personality; however, certain examples in movies reveal that their deformed appearance does not reflect the characters nature.…

In today’s society everyone is characterized based on what is normal. We have become subjective to fulfilling a specific agenda in order to come into terms with the “rules set by society. Gender roles have become a big factor in limiting one’s self and although we may not see it blatantly portrayed the media has a strong influence in promoting such lifestyles. Disney movies have become a strong influence in a child’s life. The innocence of a child may become blind to the emphasis these films place on traditional roles and heteronormative beliefs. Beauty and the Beast shows this standard beginning from the very first scene. The townspeople participate in menial tasks and join in song about the odd behavior of Belle. Through these menial tasks and interactions between the townspeople, this scene exemplifies the structured gender roles of heteronormativity motivated by a male dominant society.…

As a little girl, I pretended I was Belle from Beauty and the Beast. I wanted desperately to find my prince charming. I danced around to the songs, and I would have loved a castle filled with enchanted creatures, or a library filled with books up to the ceiling. Years later, after watching the same story unfold, I can honestly say that Belle could be a role model for me in the way she lived her life. Her personality is one of strength, open-mindedness, and abundant love. Throughout her story, Belle is faced with opposition and obstacles that push her to define and think about who she is. Gaston and the rest of the townspeople try to push and mold Belle into the type of person that they feel is “normal.” The story of Beauty and the Beast is one of Belle defying the idea of what is normal, what is right, and what is supposed to be.…
