ESOL Levels 3-5

In the class there are 41 fluent English-speaking students and 23 ELL students. The ELL students are divided between ESOL levels 3-5. Mr. Rodriguez does not assign special seats assignments for the ELL learners; however, he suggests they sit with a battle-buddy. The battle-buddy can either be a student that speaks fluent English or has more experience in the program. The teacher’s desk is situated behind the students and all the student sit in rows. It is your typical teacher centered classroom, although Mr. Rodriquez never sits at his desk. He is constantly at the front of the class or walking around room.
