1.1. Explain the importance of multi-agency working and integrated working
Multi-agency means when a team of professional come together to meet the needs of children. These professional can be social workers, nursery practitioners, and health care professionals.
The importance of multi-agency is that the children’s needs are being met and their well-being is the most important thing. We should work with the professionals to help children met their goals and this is because we use communication between us and others.
Integrated means that the different services are all under one roof such as
Social worker
Health visitor
Nursery practitioner
Education professional
The importance of multi-agency and integrated is that every children matters (ECM) the government frame work aims to improve different outcomes for children such as:
Being in good health
Safe grading
Able to achieve goals and tasks
Positive contribution and well being
This is extremely important that as nursery practitioners should work together using the government policies and their guidelines to improve the above outcomes.
In my setting we have certain policies that we have to follow regarding the EYFS such as planning.
Multi-agency and integrated also provides the terms of inclusion and equal opportunities. This is so that a team of nursery practitioners and health professionals can support the needs of the child or young person and their families.
Working to these standards is a good approach and we can co-ordinate in a more effective way to provide equal opportunity.
