Multi-agency means when a team of professional come together to meet the needs of children. These professional can be social workers, nursery practitioners, and health care professionals.
The importance of multi-agency is that the children’s needs are being met and their well-being is the most important thing. We should work with the professionals to help children met their goals and this is because we use communication between us and others.

Integrated means that the different services are all under one roof such as

Being in good health
Safe grading
Able to achieve goals and tasks
Positive contribution and well being

This is extremely important that as nursery practitioners should work together using the government policies and their guidelines to improve the above outcomes.
In my setting we have certain policies that we have to follow regarding the EYFS such as planning.
Multi-agency and integrated also provides the terms of inclusion and equal opportunities. This is so that a team of nursery practitioners and health professionals can support the needs of the child or young person and their families.

Although I have never personally had to contact multi agency’s for the children in my setting it is very important to deliver better outcomes for children this is done through early identification, intervention and observing/assessment of development stages. Outcomes are also better for the children if practitioners work together for example if a child attends two settings , the child may find this unsettling and make them confused it could be an idea for the two setting to share information but also take in to account the permission from parents / carers and how important confidentiality is.…

This could include for example their key person, a health visitor and their speech therapist. These professionals would meet on a weekly or monthly basis to discuss any changes that needed to be met to help the child’s progress and any improvements that had been made. For example they could track this in the child’s learning journey, and if the child cannot do something that they are expected to on the EYFS then the team of professionals would discuss a way to support the child and help them achieve this. Before multi-agency working was introduced the parents of the child or young person would’ve had to have seen a selection of different people before they had their needs met. Multi-agency team working avoids this issue by congregating all the professionals in one place to come to the best conclusion possible. This gives the child the best opportunity to improve which meets the point of the Every Child Matters legislation. Meggit C et al 2012 highlights this by saying “Multi-agency working is a holistic approach to child care and education and is an important feature of the governments Every Child Matters framework” ref…
