Effective Communication In Health And Social Care
The joy of teaching people from different age groups/diverse backgrounds is a privilege in itself. The reason for me going into this course was made after completing work experience in a care home and wanting to be part of the health care sector. This sector from my experience is extremely rewarding especially when it has a positive impact on people and society.
Health and social care was a subject which I found the most fascinating. Learning about how to develop effective communication skills was most intriguing as it is essential for studying at higher education and within different professional health care setting. From this I have discovered how effective communication plays an important role in overcoming any barriers which may arise
and when teaching others. Caring for children and young people was another unit of study. This topic relates to how health professional can be trained and alerted to signs of maltreatment and abuse. The second subject which I studied was applied science. Following methods for experiments and learning about theories behind science was useful as it provided an insight of diverse teaching methods as well as the importance of following instruction to ensure safety. This is necessary when working in a professional setting.
