1. Problem Statement
Training is a learning process that involves the acquisition of knowledge, sharpening of skills, concepts, rules, or changing of attitudes and behaviours to enhance the performance of employees. It is an educational process. People can learn new information, re-learn and reinforce existing knowledge and skills, and most importantly have time to think and consider what new options can help them improve their effectiveness at work.
The goal of training is to create an impact that lasts beyond the end time of the training itself. The focus is on creating specific action steps and commitments that focus people’s attention on incorporating their new skills and ideas back at work.
Training can be offered as skill development for individuals and groups. In general, trainings involve presentation and learning of content as a means for enhancing skill development and improving workplace behaviors.
Training and development is the field which is concerned with organizational activities aimed at bettering the performance of individuals and groups in organizational settings. It has been known by several names including employee development, human resource development and learning and development.
Training and development encompasses three main activities: - training, education and development.
The Purpose of Training and Development The purpose of training and development is extensive. Training and development builds a team of highly effective and efficient employees. Employees who are trained regularly are well motivated and have enhanced confidence and self-esteem.
