Enroll in a Meal Plan
One step that you could take that will save you a considerable amount of money is enrolling in a meal plan. A meal plan is a pre-paid program where you pay a set amount of money for your meals on campus each semester. Additionally a meal plan is highly convenient. You can pick up a lunch or a snack whenever you'd like and you do not have to cook it yourself.
Share Expenses with a Roommate
Another way that you can reduce your cost while living at college is to share expenses with your room mate. When it comes to living in a dorm, you can expect to live in close quarters with another student. Many expenses can be shared between roommates such as furnishings and groceries.
Watch out for Impulse Spending
It can be very tempting to spend your money on things you want but don't need. It is important to curb your spending as you will need your money for more important things such as school supplies, clothing and text books. Rather than allowing your hard-earned money go to waste on frivolous items, watch your spending and use it on things that are essential to everyday living.
10 Realistic Ways To Manage Your Student Debt Load
Determine What Is Essential and Non-Essential
Another point of difficulty for many college students who are just starting out on their own is determining the difference between essential and non-essential items. Essential items are products that you need for everyday living like food, hygienic products and clothing. Non-essential items are products that you want but don't need for everyday living. Non-essential items can include products such as a trip to the movies, electronic gadgets or another pair of sneakers when you already own three other pairs. Although it may be difficult at first, curb your spending to include only essential items until you are accustomed to living off of your budget.
Saving Money on Supplies
Saving money on many college supply items is easy, especially if you are living on campus. Before going straight to the campus bookstore, ask around to see if there is a used bookstore nearby. Chances are there is, and you could save a considerable amount of money on your textbooks for next semester. Additionally, you could save yourself even more money if you consider downloading your textbook to an e-Reader or tablet device. If you are looking to save on other supplies such as three-ring binders and loose leaf paper, consider buying in bulk from an office supply store such as Staples. Retailers often give you a discount when you buy a bulk amount of supplies from them. If all else fails, try an online site such as eCampus.com, which boasts that it can save college students up to 90% on new and used text books.
The Bottom Line
Entering college is an exciting milestone, and if this is your first time away from home, it can also be nerve-inducing. Get started on the right foot financially by taking the necessary steps to ensure a sturdy budget when you step foot onto the campus. Save money where you can, share expenses with a college roommate and, most importantly, be conscientious about your spending while you are away from home.

What is death penalty? Death penalty is when a state or the government issues the punishment of execution to some one who has committed a crime. It has always been one of the most highly debated issues in the United States. Many Americans are against the capital punishment or commonly knows as the death penalty because they fear its too expensive or there are religious reasons to oppose the death penalty or some other reasons. But my point of view is just like the bible and what it says "an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth" meaning if you killed some body you ought to be killed also. Most people aren't worried about the life after committing crimes because they know that the laws aren't strict enough to make them to stop committing crimes. To these people, laws don't hold them back from doing what they want to do. Capital punishment is mainly used for murderers and other serious criminals dangerous to our society. People who oppose the capital punishment clearly don't feel the pain and the trouble the victims and their families has gone through. So, is capital punishment necessary? “Out of three hundred seven million people residing here in the United States, 11.1 million of them are immigrants” (Tabarrok). Immigrants migrate at different times, for plenty of different reasons, and from various foreign countries. Immigrants come to the U.S in hope for a more prominent and better life that entails freedom from the bad stuff happening in their countries and also opportunity for themselves and their children to live a better life. The request for opening the border to immigrants would highly benefit the U.S. Most illegal immigrants are hard-working and take care of their job. The economy would improve greatly with the number of jobs increasing; the U.S would be able to spend the money they use to secure the borders on more essential matters. Immigrants are considered valuable for Americans. Also, if the people in the country are pleased, the government is satisfied with its citizens. The mixing of cultures is highly beneficial for the country’s growth literally and figuratively.…

At the beginning of the article the author sets a scene of a typical road trip. He portraits a tranquil atmosphere using adjectives “nice” and “relaxing”. However, this peaceful scene is soon disturbed by the argument of the couple, as John couldn’t understand what Allison’s actual intentions were. The author tells an anecdote in order to explain features of women’s spoken language, such as indirect speech, in more entertaining way that would capture the reader’s attention. He implements spoken language features, for example non standard structuring of questions “everything OK darling?” and punctuation marks “… “ which indentifies the pause of the speaker, so the story would be easy to follow. The anecdote highlights the indirect speech features of Allison by the use of interrogative “ Would you like a cup of coffee?” Although, the pronoun ‘you’ should suggest that she was only addressing to her friend, John, but according to author her intentions were self-centred. She only asked, because she wanted a cup of coffee herself. The metaphor “beats around the bush” also suggests that women tent to hedge and use fillers when expressing themselves.…

Have you ever been embarrassed to the point that you wished you could just disappear at the snap of the fingers? I have. Only my mum could have embarrassed me like that. My face was burning with rage; I could not believe that she had told them. There are only a few things in life which can make you feel as small as I did. Like everyone else, I was raised believing in the Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny and of course, Santa Claus, but one way or another the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny eventually get outed by TV shows, friends, and even parents. Santa is different. For some reason, Santa's secret is very very safe... a little too safe in my case. I don't like admitting this, but it was the winter of my 15th year that my world was forever turned upside down when I went shopping in town with my friends. It was December 22nd and the glitter and shine were blinding at the local shopping centre. Christmas music streamed from every store and everyone carried handfuls of colourful bags and festively decorated packages.…
