Envy Research Paper

Philosophy is the rational investigation of truth, principles of being and knowledge as to how can we define and understand the phenomenon of envy. The word ‘Envy’ derives from the Latin word invidia, which means ‘non sight’ and the main problem of envy is that it serves as an aid for us not to see the bigger picture of ourselves, the lack of contentment to what we already have basically.

But does envy not really give something positive to man? This phenomenon is always seen as a negative one but this paper aims to prove and discuss the negative and positive side as well of envy.

Envy is agreed to involve two persons or two party, the envier(“Subject”), a person or party who envied(“Rival”)—this is maybe a person or group of people that possesses
“the good” that the Subject does not have. The good is an attribute or property that the Rival possesses while the subject is experiencing maybe eustress or distress about it. In this paper, I’ll work through the matter of envy for us not be biased and be skeptical on our thoughts.
