Esc1102 Reflection
I really enjoyed being in your class this semester and I learned a lot from your ENC1102 class. I know I am not a good writer but I have learned to notice my strengths and weaknesses and to learn from all of them. comment and feedback I received from you on my paper helped me to realize what I need to work on in my future writing assignment. I know all my paper needed more work especially on my grammar and word choices. My portfolio includes Project # 2 and Project # 3 and reflections of my strengths and weaknesses on my writings. This semester I have been not involved in revision camper to other semester because of my work schedule. I know that is excuse but it is true. Eventually I end up revising one of my essay with writing center and

Freshman Composition has done so much for me academically. In previous years I have had to do little to no writing and even when we did there were no rules or writing process we had to follow. This class has built a great basis for me, towards my academic future. I do realize that I am far away from being even an average writer, but I enjoy and accept that challenge to myself on becoming a competent writer. Parts of my writing, that still need to work are my introductions and sentence fluency. While I believe that my strong suits are, that once I get past my obstacles of writing that I have the potential to write something that will make a difference, other than that all my skills are still very raw. I’ve learned many things during EN101, the…

English may not be one of my strongest areas of expertise, but with a little guidance I am positive that I have the potential to become a good writer. In ENC1101, I expect to grow as an English student. I want to gain experience, and have the knowledge in different areas of writing so I will be able to utilize the techniques I’ve learned and apply them to my life. I am certain that if I take the information I learn from this class and use it wisely, it will help me get ahead in the future. Building confidence, I think is one of the most important aspects in writing as well. I wish to become more comfortable in knowing I am capable of writing a good essay. Presenting ideas can sometimes be a challenge for me, and many times the ideas that I am trying to explain can come across as unclear to the reader. Developing the skills to present thoughts or ideas in a smooth and clear manner are essential and I expect to learn these techniques in the class so it will help me become a better writer. Even though these are just…

After Monday’s presentation by the Broward College’s career coach, I am not sure which writing class will benefit me more in my future career. I had originally registered to take ENC1102: Composition II over the summer, but now I believe ENC2210: Professional and technical writing will help me more not only in my college career but also in the work field. ENC2210’s main objective is to introduce students to technical and professional writing. This class will teach me how to communicate professionally in different scenarios. According to the course description, ENC2210 will teach me how to properly write emails, letters, resumes, memos, reports, proposals, technical descriptions, technical definitions, and technical manuals.…

This class has taught me many things about myself along with many necessary skills needed while writing. I know now that, through hard work and determination, I can achieve what I might think to be impossible. While reflecting back on my initial writing abilities, I see the weak, uneducated style of writing. Each essay shows my progression and improvement, and, after a while, the class began to become much easier. Today, after practicing throughout my essays this semester, I believe that I, in fact, have…

It has gone so incredibly fast. I can honestly say that I am going to miss this class. I am not going to miss the drive to Collinsville, though. I feel that I have grown a great bit while making my way through this Cross Cultural cluster. I never once dreaded having to work all day and then having to go to class and sit for four hours. My classmates are great. As a class, we always made it fun and entertaining. I do hope that I am blessed with having them in class with the rest of my journey seeking my bachelor’s degree. I have plenty of class left to conquer. Lastly, thank you, Professor Anderson! You made this cluster to be unlike any that I have experienced thus far. You made me feel comfortable from day one. I am a real big fan of your spontaneousness and flexibility. You could really feel your passion each night we met. You could tell you wanted to be there teaching us. Again, thank you. And, it would bring me great joy to have you again as my…

I have combined all the work that I have completed throughout the semester. The final exam required the class to produce a individual portfolio. My portfolio contains my thoughts on my free-writing experience, how I chose my Book Reports, how I wrote all six essay assignments, two essays I feel are my finest work, and a letter to Mr. Wahi telling him what grade I think I deserve for this English class.…

My personal goals overall for this class is to gain the necessary elements and principles of writing, in order to further help my skills as a writer so it may lead to future success. As a writer my skills have improved over the years in things like grammar, thesis statements, outlines and critical thinking. Overall my skills in writing have greatly improved over the years, even though some may still require improvement. By completing this class over the summer, I look forward in reducing my weaknesses as a writer writer’s block and etc., in order to become a more significant and effective writer. My writing process has greatly changed throughout the course of this class. Starting at the beginning in August, I came into class rather cocky. I did not take the time to go over all of Dr. Trollinger’s comments on my rough draft and make multiple drafts. I was a victim of extreme procrastination. I had always excelled as an English / Rhetoric student in high school so I just assumed it would be a breeze. This was not the case. I completely and totally tanked the first paper. Because of this, I decided to greatly alter my writing process. This decision extremely benefited my future papers. I, now, take time to go over each and every draft, marking my mistakes as I go. I start papers rather early so I can take the paper piece by piece, reworking as I go. On each draft, Dr. T turns back, I print them out and write out what I need and don’t need to do. This has…

If you compare the documentary proposal that I wrote at the beginning of marking period 5 to the documentary conclusion in the last marking period, you can tell how my strength in my own writing really improved (even though they were dealing with the same topic). I’m truly content with the work I put into this class and I hope that as this class continues through the years, many other students will feel just the same. I just want to end with thanking this class and more specifically thanking Mrs. Pfeifer for not only teaching us how to fix misplaced modifiers and add commas when necessary, but showing us how to be well rounded individuals while still keeping our unique…

Throughout the year, my writing has had significant improvements, compared to where I began. First, I began this semester fairly confident in my writing abilities. I thought that I had a strong grasp on writing concepts that include: transition words, literary devices, proper grammar techniques, correct paper writing format. In contrast, I felt that I began the year with a weak vocabulary, which has always been one of my weaker areas, If I were to rank myself on day one of class, without knowing all of the material we were going to cover, I would rank my writing skills an eight out of ten.…

My writing has changed a lot in my first-semester essay writing class. I finally took a class that teaches me useful information and how to properly write an essay. Essay Writing overall was a fun experience it was a slow start for me in the beginning but once I was able to get the work done I was fine. There were a lot of positives to taking this class. I started the year struggling to come up with ideas to write about nut now I can brainstorm and put my words down on the paper better than ever. “If I could travel anyplace in the world for free, I would want to go to North Korea. I would love to see what it's like.” I struggled with proper punctuation and the use of commas and such throughout my high school career and I still struggle with it I hope to learn more about it in the near future. “Cars are one of the best inventions ever.” I needed some direction on making my sentences longer with getting to the point at the same time. There's a lot of small things I need to still improve on but I feel like I got a good start with the Essay Writing course. I got a lot of useful feedback from Mrs.Pennings on all my essays like when to use certain words and proper punctuation and some compliments the really…
