Respect isn’t gained by harsh punishment, but it also isn’t gained by a lack of charisma. There needs to be a medium where we as leaders lead the band, but without an iron fist. Nobody likes to be yelled at, especially not after a stressful day. I feel that our goals can be met without brute force if we have a more efficient way to voice our concerns. If peoples’ concerns are sufficiently acknowledged, it shows leadership and a successful platform for progress. Progress is a two-way connection between the leaders and the followers, and it is only successful if that bridge remains intact.
