Marijuana has been legal for recreational use in Colorado and Washington since 2012. Since marijuana was legalized there has not been that much of an impact regarding the legalization of marijuana. There has been an impact on crime, tax revenue and usage rates for a long time. Legalization of marijuana has not reduced the racial disparity in drug arrest in the states. There are several lessons that can be learned from this. According to washingtonpsot.com, the usage of marijuana by teenagers has not changed since they legalized marijuana. No matter what policies and procedures are put into place it could possibly change or not. It is important that before making a change policy maker should see how the change will affect a country or how it will benefit a country. In my opinion, change is always good. The only way to find out if something will work out is to try it. In conclusion, Marijuana usage has affected many people. I don’t agree with legalization of marijuana. People would only abuse it and possibly hurt other people. The impact that marijuana legalization has had on crime, tax, and arrest is interesting. Regardless of how much marijuana a person has they should still get arrested for it because in most states it is illegal. Marijuana should have been legal for certain situations such as medical issues that people had.
