In the story of “baseball and the facts of life” There are two sides to the event regarding Brett and his coach. Regarding Brett for his lack of playing time in the field or batting and Brett only plays one inning in each game while also destroying his love for the sport of baseball. He was still very dedicated to his team and tried his hardest the coach still put him in one inning a game which in my mind is very mean because he’ll really won’t get better if he can’t play. The coach’s side however he is very competitive and insensitive toward his players. The coach seemed to only want to win and nothing else and didn’t care for the less skilled players. The coach also never notices the eager look in Brett’s eyes every time he is took out that he is going to be put back in. when the other players are fooling around. Brett is ruthless and competitiveness clearly shows, especially when the coach took Brett right out of the game as one of the better players showed up.…

English is my second language, so I didn’t have any friends in America. I began to draw an anime character to keep myself entertained. As I got better with drawing an anime character, my classmates started talking to me even though I cannot speak English fluently. I felt art breaks the border between people, and this is the thing that I want to keep working through my life.…

I began to wonder what I could do to help. Complaining about my problems would not fix anything, so I thought I would draw for people to make them happy. So for a long time, I thought being an artist was my career choice. It dawned on me that art is more of an emotional relief if one is making it. I then realized that counseling would be an amazing way to let people express themselves, but I still wanted people to express their way through art. Although I have not figured how to combine the two, I do know that college is my next step to pursuing my dream, and helping heal the…

Last year, I had a class where everyone had to write positive things about people on slips of paper that those people would later receive. Most of the slips I was given had words like “artistic” written on them. It’s the one thing people think of when they see me. I’m given art supplies for birthdays and Christmas, I used to be able to fill sketchbooks in just a month, and creating just now seems like something I’m supposed to be alive for, but I didn’t get serious about it until I was in middle school and didn’t want to make a career out of it until I was a freshmen in high school. Unfortunately, I’ve been going to a school that does not offer much or any art classes but on my own, I have been climbing my way to my dreams of becoming an animator, illustrator, or tattoo artist. Going to Perpich will benefit me well in this process and I’ve already taken art classes at the Art Academy, started my own webcomic, experimented with many different mediums, and have read books about improving art styles. The visual arts is essentially my passion and I will do anything to keep it that way.…
As far as I can remember growing up in Korea, when everyone in kindergarten were told to write down what they want to become in life, I subconsciously wrote down to become an artist. As a little kid, I had no idea in the basic structures of creating “art.” After I told myself that this is what I wanted to be, my curiosity was endless. In this day and age, I was put in after-school academy where it’s traditional in Korea for further education; however, after my commitment to art, I begged my mom to put me into art academy where I got to first explore the world of arts. I trusted my instincts and developed this love for art from scratch by never going back on my…
