When employees know that their opinions are valued, they will be more inclined to ensure their work is accurate and efficient.…

Workplace diversity is defined as “ways that people differ that may affect their workplace experiences in terms of performance, motivation, and communication” (Harvey, 2011, p. xiv). It is important to have an understanding of cultural, ethnic and gender differences by managers and professionals in order to have an effective working environment. This can be accomplished when managers and professionals are able to understand their own identities, race/ethnicity, and their own biasness. While attempting to overcome our own biasness can be challenging, acknowledging them can prevent us from discriminating actions (Harvey, 2011).…

With culture comes history which all students learn. When learning about all of these different beliefs and cultures while also interacting with children from different cultures prepares them for a future with diverse colleagues. Researchers, Amy Wells, Lauren Fox and Diana Cordova-Cabo, found that, “Ninety-six percent of major employers say it is important that employees be comfortable working with colleagues, customers, and/or clients from cultural diverse backgrounds” (Wells, Fox, & Cordova-Cobo, 2016). Businesses and marketing strategies have expanded greatly over time due to diversity. There are more job opportunities, and it helps our economy grow while also appreciating diverse workplaces. This week, for the purpose of studying ethic, I will use my current company, Artelia International (called AI). This is an international company based in France and operating in more than 50 countries from Brazil to Vietnam going through Columbia, Morocco, Ivory Coast, Oman, India and of course, all over Europe. I chose this company for two main reasons which are the strong leadership on the Ethic point and also the wide operating countries which makes the line between an ethical and an unethical behavior not easy to draw (Treviño & Brown, 2005). As a lot of our classmates are from the US, I will use a very interesting example I read recently. Apparently, it is common in the US to ask for a fast track for some administrative stuff,…
