Example Of Intergenerational Conflict In Nursing Home Care
Intergenerational conflict is when the generations compete for care, resources, or even jobs in the workplace. Conflict of care within families can be difficult. Those caught in the sandwich generation, can oftentimes be caregivers to those younger and older than they are. This can cause stress on the whole family. In addition to care, financial resources are also an issue. There were several examples regarding allocation of funds being positive for all involved. One example shows that by having families be proactive in caring for their elderly, disabled individuals age 70 and older were 60 percent less likely to experience nursing home care if they received help from a child in the form of basic personal care all or most of the time, compared
