I think that the Unmentionable Times mentioned here are supposed to be our society now. The towers which rose to the sky are skyscrapers, the wagons which moved without horses are cars, and the light which burned without flame are light bulbs. Well this passage was a bit awkward for me, but I am going to respond to it maturely. Equality 7-2521 has a deep hate for the Palace of Mating, because as he expressed before it enables sex without choice for doing it or choice for whom you are doing it with.
