The two things that I am passionate is politics and intersectional feminism. Every since I was a little girl my dad and I would always have conversations about politics. Growing up, when watching the news I would always see a white cis-gender men in the house of commons, fighting with each other, talking to the press and etc. I always find it interesting that there was a lack of women in politics including racialized women such as myself in politics. I think its important we encourage women to pursue careers that are very male dominated such as the politics, business, science and etc. With encouraging women to pursue their dreams, being an intersectional feminist, I want to ensure that all women’s’ voices are being heard. The fact that women are unable to be safe in their own community is something that makes me stays awake at night. I have been fortunate to live in a loving home, where I have parents that treat me with respect, I am grateful to have friends that have always supported me and I am glad that in the past I have escape from emotional relationships. But there are many women out there that are afraid of leaving an abusive relationship are afraid to be themselves or are terrified of enjoying their life because of being a woman. There are times, where I want to do something such as organizing a protest, a support group or even reaching out to organizations to see how we can work on ensuring women are in a safe place. If the missing and murdered indigenous women case is solved, and resources are implemented to help women feel safe and that violence towards women end, that I think I would be able to sleep better, but for right now the fight continues to ensure that all women are safe in their own
