Examples Of Long Term Goals
Long Term Goal #1: Career
As the future comes closer, you start to realize all the opportunities and requirements for specific careers. After years of consideration, I decided to pursue an occupation in the science/medical field and become a physiotherapist.
Practicing medicine is a long term goal of mine since in the medical field, you are providing a service for a patient. But unlike other services such as one in a retail store, medicine is vital to a person's health and in addition, it is something that is evolving as technology advances. It would be a dream come true to see people no longer having to suffer physically and emotionally from an illness and to hasten the process of healing. I specifically want to become a physiotherapist because it is almost like magic; the ability to heal patients through exercise. It is fascinating how simple exercises could affect the time it takes to heal, the resulting appearance of your injury, and other factors of recovery, much different from what injections or pills can do.

As a physiotherapist, your daily tasks includes working side by side with patients, communicating to them about specific procedures, educating them about their health, and checking up on them to ensure their safety and process is going the right direction. In other words, a physiotherapist requires a social and understanding person. That being said, I consider myself to be an interpersonal person who is enthusiastic, empathic, and optimistic when working individually or collectively. I aspire to become a physiotherapist in the future as my long term career

I also have always had a natural interest in the medical field because I like to watch a lot of ER and hospital shows. At first I didn’t really know what health career I wanted to pursue. I just knew that I liked being in the healthcare class and learning about the different health science careers and what they do. I think a medical office administration assistant would be a very good career for me because I am very helpful and can always be counted on when people need me. This is not my only career choice, it’s just the first I want to pursue. One year after graduation I will hopefully have my medical assisting certificate or at least be working on getting it.
