Everyday, I have an argument about something with someone. However, many of those arguments do never have valid reasoning or facts to accept the conclusion of the argument. Many Americans persuaded other Americans on an everyday basis but never have good reasoning. An example, politicians use good verbiage and have great persuasive skills to get Americans to vote for them. They have a great and real persuasive capacity to get a point across without good reasoning. This is an example of rhetorical ploy. Rhetorical ploy pretends to give good reasons, but their real capacity depends on something non-argumentative (Rhetorical ploy lecture, pg 1.). My favorite activities to do when I have time Watching television shows rhetorical ploy and there are many ways that they show rhetorical ploys. One way they show rhetorical ploy is with the appeal to pity because they have commercials showing puppies that are injured and need help. They mention how it should help the puppies if you give money or adopt them and they do not give great reasoning on why you should help. They have commercials with little children in different countries faced with many obstacles and showing their sad little faces. They want you to appeal to emotion instead of good reasoning. I am not saying that I do not believe that you should not help someone in need but to provide good reasons help your argument. Secondly, many people love kids and the appeal to cuteness is definitely something that have in many commercials. Many people use children to get an individual to do a good deed for a child just because of their cuteness or in competitions and special events
