The three main ways in which the national initiatives cover anti-discriminatory practices is through convections.
1. Convections are agreements, covering a particular matter.
2. Legislation means law making
3. and Regulation means regulating and adjusting the laws once in place.
All the listed national initiatives come under the anti-discriminatory practices, where they can control and deal with any discrimination if it occurs in a health and social care sector/ setting. A charter is a document which states the purpose of the service. Charters also state the set of standards that are expected to benefit the service users and their rights and responsibilities. An example of a charter would be entitlement to services. For example, all UK residents are entitled to treatment from the NHS. This will help promote anti-discrimination and ensure equality as health care workers and professionals will be aware of what is expected of them as an employee of a service, so they will make sure that each service user receives the same treatment as the other. For example, in a care home, all residents are entitled to the same amount of treatment as any other residents are entitled to in the home. Therefore, no individual will be discriminated against by receiving less care than another
