The aim of this group assignment was to succeed worked in groups and to deliver on time and to achieve a common goal. I am a woman with good organization, so the members of my team entrusted the leadership of the group. We had more than a month to work on a group assignment to manage the desired effect. I made a program about what everyone did with instructions and material. Also, I was also responsible for the construction work, the shaping, the grammar and spelling. At the beginning, some people from my team refused to work. I was so disappointed, nervous and I believed that I would lose the work, but I did not give up, I convinced them. I said to them “We had to do this”. I tried to explain them that the priority was "we" rather than "I" and for the sake of this need retreats, goodwill and sacrifices sometimes. I did not judge them, but instead encouraged them to try harder even though it was difficult. Finally, I think what helped my team was the sincerity and the request. Τhe results were not as satisfactory, but the truth is that we tried quite despite the initial …show more content…
The presentation I had to be almost 20 'minutes in duration. I had at least five days to gather the appropriate material and my presentation. When the day of the presentation arrived things were not as I expected and I wanted. I had become stressed so much that I was afraid that I forgot everything and I made a lot of mistakes, it happened. The beginning everything went well but the continuation of the presentation to conquer the stress. Stop the slide show for 3 minutes to realize what happening to me and I understand for most reason I was there. Fortunately, I understood quickly that it was my last chance to prove what really I could, but also to emphasize the reason I was there. I did not to show my anxiety and I did not to stop the presentation. I should have finished the presentation without any pause even if I made mistakes. If I again had the chance to re presentation I was calmer, conscious and strict with myself so I can not to again make the same

First of all, during preparation, i will plan the date and frequency of meetings. Not like this time, during the Christmas, team members went travelling in different date, so we had to have meeting a week before new semester, which lead to everything is in a hurry. Then, when allocate individual task, I should choose a more challenging task or not very familiar aspect. In this way, I would be more active to learn new things. This time I choose marketing part because I learned this course in undergraduate, so it is easy for me to do my own work, but lost a good opportunity to access to new knowledge. As for the presentation, we were given 1 hour to record, but half an hour wasted in the adjusting the projector and the computer, as a result we only recorded twice. In addition, 3 minutes presentation is not long, but I supposed to write a draft and recite it to ensure a fluent speech. But fact is I did not prepare a draft and the content might a slight different in two recordings and also not fluent. Last one is next time we need to wear suit to make it more professional, not in casual clothes, which is uncomfortable for the…

Being a team leader of the group consists upon bearing in mind the conflicts that may occur during group activities such as group discussions. The problems that had occurred were that as a team leader there were downfalls of other team members not participating coercively which had a major impact on work not handed in on time to me which delays the submission process of the work if it were to be a real life experience then I think the team I was with would not be successful enough to handle complicated situations such as handing over work before deadlines. I also had to value other team member’s by listening to their views and opinions as well as therefore had to show motivation and the skills to my group members for e.g. interpersonal skills even encourage team members to contribute in other group activities bearing in mind I set objectives that clarified what each group member had to do.…

During the forming stage, the team showed hard work ethic. Rules were put into place that all members agreed to keep. The rules mainly consisted of communicating any issues, and have the assignment done to be put together two days before the due date. Assignments were done with ease. The quality of work was excellent, and finished on time. As assignments started to get harder the team moved into the storming stage. A higher expectation was given with the assignments, as the assignment began to be more demanding. The team members had to plan in order to be on the same page with the assignments. Each member had great enthusiasm and ideas of what would be a great plan for the assignments. While different ideas came, the group had to agree on one plan. This put some of the team members on edge, because of the differences in ideas. The team struggled on a few assignments, but still got good grades. As this happened, the students went into the norming stage of development. All members of the group started to trust the other member’s ideas and became open to doing work in different ways. The team had to work together rather than individually at this point in order to be on the same page. The work became easy and enjoyable for…

How to divide the assignment up among group members was another issue the group had to overcome. Once we decided the part that each group member would complete, each member completed his or her part and submitted as his or her part of the final assignment. When a portion of the assignment was published, each group member would give their thoughts, ideas, and opinions on any changes that might need to be made. In order for this to work, all members agreed that critiques or criticism must be made in a positive manner.…

We also communicated with each other when we had questions. I decided to take on the role of putting our final presentation together. We agreed that the group members would have their parts of the presentation to me by Saturday the 19th so that I could have time to put it all together and work on the general format to make sure it looked cohesive. I thought it was important that everyone have time to see what will be submitted before so that if anyone was unhappy we can make changes. I think we functioned well as a team during this assignment. We tried to keep communicating with each other when we had questions or were unsure about any aspect of the project. We had noticed that we had not heard from Annette for a few days about the project so we made sure to reach out to her again to make sure she was still ok with everything that was happening to which she responded that she was. I think we were all very respectful of each others time and ideas when it came to deadlines. Everyone was very helpful if someone needed clarification on anything which I…

Initially, I had a negative view on group working because of the challenges that I had. When I was in high school, my five other friends and I used to work together in a music competition. Although we were supposed to get together to practice for the event, we were only able to meet up once a week. In addition to having a hard time with time scheduling, we often did not have a consensus of opinion. Whenever we had a discussion, we usually ended up with no results. So it always took a long time for us to make a decision. Consequently, the performance did not turn out as well as we expected. Because of this initial failure, I thought group work was time consuming and ineffective. However, I have changed my opinion lately because of the successful results in some of my laboratory classes. In each laboratory assignment, it is nearly impossible to work by myself because there are a lot of steps and each step needs to be very precise and accurate. Therefore, a group of two or three students will work more effectively compared to an individual because they can help to remind each other and finish the assignment faster. Based on those experiences, one more time I give myself a chance to work in a group and figured out how work effectively. Finally, thank to the Small group communication class, I found out that group work can become very productive if all the members in the group cooperate and follow the principles of small group communication. In this paper, I want to talk…
