Assessment: Write an expository, research based essay about an event concerning the topic of human exploitation which occurred during the years 600 C.E.-1600 C.E.*:

Research (Who, What and How): * A description of the event including significant dates * Significant persons and their involvement in the event * Consequences of the event
Analysis (Why): * Analysis of the importance of the event * Possibility of recurrence (Is it possible for this something like this event to happen again?)
Virtual Museum: * View a virtual museum with a connection to your event (this can be through the time period, thematically, subject matter, etc.) * As the last paragraph, discuss

* Limit the use of “to be” verbs (avoid using them if possible). * Avoid opinions unless prompt specifically asks. * Avoid using unnecessary words such as: a lot, more, very, kind of, really, totally, just, lots, like * Do not repeat yourself (even if it is in different wording). * When proofreading a paragraph, ask yourself if it has a point to it (Look for a topic sentence).

* Students in WHAP are required to have Mr. Conrad or Mrs. Trcka approve the event before writing the essay (see the back for signature line).
