Fear is a mind killer. It is the little-death that brings total obliteration - Bene Gesserit
Fear is a fraud. Beyond being a fraud, fear has a crippling influence that drains one of his ( one’s – incorrect grammar )strength, blur your vision and dispossess you of your foresight.
The most painful part of succumbing to the paralysing grips of fear is that most of the things we feared don’t get to happen.
Long ago, I read a story that illustrates how best to confront our fears in life. According to the story,(One day) a young buffalo named Walter who lived long ago (incorrect grammar) on the plains of West Africa approached his dad and asked him if there was anything that he should be scared of in life (could have been constructed …show more content…
I’ve heard about lions. If I ever come across any, I’ll turn and run as fast as I can. Lions are terrible hunters” Walter boasted (boast is something one is proud of, I’m unsure about its usage as per context).
“No, that’s the wrong (seems more like spoken English where we are allowed such grammar errors) to do my son,” the father replied
“Why? Lions are scary and will attempt to kill me if I don’t run.”
The father looked at him carefully and smiled, “son, if you run away from lions, they will chase you, and that might bring you to a painful end,” the father paused. “Most easy solutions get to the dead ends.” “So what would you expect me to do? To stay and get killed” Walter enquired.
“If you ever come across a lion, stand your ground and show him that you’re no fear of him. Lions, like many other hunters, feed on your fears. If he doesn’t move away at that, show him your sharp horns and stomp the ground with your strong hooves. But lions are naturally stubborn, so that may still not work. Then, charge at him and hit him with all the strength you’ve got!”
“That’s crazy; I’ll be scared to death to do that. What if it (just now in last paragraph you have mentioned lion as male using ‘he’ as a pronoun. Now you are using it signifying as if it is a non-living thing) gets angry and attacks me back?” said the startled young …show more content…
Response with underlying panic is as bad as the problem itself. Sometimes, it turns out even worse.
According to Seth Godin, “being aware of your fear is smart but overcoming it is the true sign of greatness.”
It isn’t enough to recognise the dangers and fears in your life; what’s important is discovering the best way to deal with them. Otherwise, this discovery will haunt and hurt you rather than help you. Many people take the short cuts and have their lives cut short because they feared the challenges of taking firm decisions and confronting their challenges headlong.
Many people will take the rope and end it all just to save them the troubles of confronting the monster of uncertain future. But one thing is sure about giving up: you are done with the possibility of making a chance at success. However, no matter how slim and hectic, a chance is several miles away from giving up.
You (who is ‘you’? all of a sudden coming into picture) know why the human body is a self-reproducing system? Have you ever considered why the many cells and organs work tirelessly to repair damages and fix problems in the body? The reason is simple, the human body and mind are designed to recuperate, bounce back after every fall and overcome every challenge that crosses its
