Over the summer of my sophomore year, I applied and interviewed for the President of Indiana FFA State Band. As it turned out, that position was my motivation for continuing to push myself to improve. Once I walked out of the interview and my friend, mentor, and president of the Indiana FFA State Band congratulated me on being selected to serve as the state band president. I feel a sense of pride and it warms my heart when I show the other members what FFA can do for them. I was selected as my school's FFA chapter president at the end of my sophomore year. Being president showed me a whole new side to being an FFA member. It gave me more responsibility and purpose. Sometimes when going to chapter events as the president, I found myself losing track of time. I became so captivated with the work in my chapter because I wanted to make it better for the generation that will come next.
