Nowadays, people have various views about possessing firearms. It cannot be denied that firearms are often a big danger. One of the numerous examples is the school shooting on April 20, 1999 at Columbine High school that ended in a massacre. In this essay, I will discuss three arguments that indicates why I am against firearms. Firstly, weapon possession creates more crime. Secondly, a firearm could end up by mentally ill people, even when it is bought legally. At last, most of the time, citizens are not able to defend themselves with firearms. Therefore, citizens around the world should not be allowed to own firearms.

That is one of the causes of the occur of a school-shooting. Firearms lead also to other kinds of crimes, like robberies. A thief or a robber will feel more ‘safe’ when they are carrying a firearm. He or she knows that they can force the other to do something with a firearm. They are more likely to commit a robbery when they know it will succeed. Those are a few examples why weapon possession leads to more crime.
A firearm could also end up by mentally ill people. Before possessing a firearm, the citizen must do a test, which will determine if he or she is mentally healthy. If the result is positive, he or she will have the right to own a firearm. However, what if someone becomes mentally ill during their life? It might could happen by the loss of a loved one or by losing your million company. People are able to kill someone when they are mentally ill. There is a no guarantee that a firearm stays by mentally healthy people.
People posses firearms because they are scared. They think a gun can protect them, while most of the time people are not able to defend themselves with a firearm. If someone points a firearm at you
