Fracture Liaison Service - Fracture Liaison Services (FLS), the gold standard in fracture care, plays a significant role in diagnosing, assessing, and treating osteoporosis in patients over the age of 50 who have a fracture. Improved access to DXA (dual energy x-ray absorptiometry) scanning, which evaluates bone density, and pharmacological treatment support through a FLS can help lower the risk of additional fractures. In most circumstances, patients are referred to or identified by a FLS, which can be located at a doctor's office or, more typically, a hospital.
