The functional behavioral assessment report relates to FBA’s as presented in the course. It is related to the case study of choice and the scenarios are: the parents of a four year old seek help for control of their child’s behavior. Their child consistently throws temper tantrums while at home and out in the community. The behavior of concern has become so frequent and intense such that the child is often left to do what he or she wants. The fears experiencing the tantrums while out in public. That has made the family remain at home most of the time.

The 35 year old was observed to breaks windows when distressed. The behavior happens when in the group adult home. Function behavior class of concern(35 year old breaking windows)
In this section the report defines the possible function of behavior, describes the hypothesized functions of the child’s behavior.
Potential functions of behavior include:
Positive reinforcement: the child should be involved in activities that interest him or her. He or she should enroll in a day care that caters for the child’s special needs rather than stay at home in seclusion. The child should perhaps get their sensory nerves stimulated so as to increase his or her excitement.
Negative Reinforcement
When the child experiences the temper tantrums, the demands should be avoided and their sensory nerves should instead be stimulated be introducing some entertainment of sort.
Hypothesized function of behavior
Setting events: sitting idle doing nothing
Antecedents: demands given to the child
Behaviors: temper tantrums and doing whatever he or she wants.
Function: avoid issuing demands to the tempered child and get the child involved in exciting …show more content…

They will get to the root of the problem and be able to control the child and give the child the much needed special
