George Washington's Freedom Speech
George Washington was a president who was born on February 22, 1732, and has passed away on December 14, 1799. He has passed away because he had a throat infection. He was currently 67 when he has passed away. Washington was elected president on April 30, 1789 to March 4, 1797. He was running against John Adams, who was the vice president. He was the first president elected for the United States ever. As he was elected he had never worked at the white house and he had never stayed in Washington, D.C. He has not worked at the White House because it has not been completely built all the way. Washington has not worked in D.C. because he has ended his year with being a chief. He had worked in New York and Philadelphia while he was president.
Some quotes that he had said as a president are “Be courteous to all, but intimate with few, and let those few be well tried before you give them your confidence.” Another quote he has said is “If the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter.” “To be prepared for war is one of the most effectual means of preserving peace.” A few more quotes that George Washington has said are “Liberty, when it begins to take root, is a plant of rapid growth.” “Guard against the impostures of pretend patriotism.” “It is better to offer no excuse …show more content…
Also some places that he has visited are Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Maine, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia. He was born in Westmoreland County, Virginia on February 22, during the American Revolution. His birthday was on different days depending on what calendars he has used.
