Get Paid For Grades
This argument is about if students should get paid for good grades. I think we should, for example, I think students would try harder in school so they could get better grades to get paid. so that’s why i think we should cause higher grades, higher test scores, and happier students, and happier parents.

A’s and B’s are the only grades that should get paid because they are actually wanting to try. Their for the students that don’t do anything to get good grades or they don’t even show up to school they shouldn’t get paid. Because why should they get paid. While the students with A’s and B’s are showing up and actually paying attention and turning all their work in on time so they can get paid. People say that students getting paid for good

I think it would be a good idea because the schools that wanna have the best test scores they could get those by paying the students for their good grades. Reason why is because students would work harder and be more focused on what they need to learn and what they would need to do to make test scores higher and to get better grades. Getting paid for the students that get good grades are the ones who wanna get somewhere in life. I believe that more and more school would have better chances of doing their best. In fact parents have been paying their kid and it started catching on to school. For example some schools are offering students money so they will succeed to where they have a things easier.

Another reason why i think students should get paid for having good grades is because if they got paid that would be more kids getting better grades and getting money and they get rewarded. More and more students would be going to school not missing or skipping. There are studies that show more students do better when they get paid for doing it. People wanna work hard when they have a motivation. Getting money for getting good grades would possibly be one of the best ways to go or it also could be the worst way

As a mark of Protest against this proposal, the Chicago Teachers Union representing 26,000 teachers called on a strike on 10th September, 2012. The union said that a student’s grade depends upon many other factors, including a student's health, family situation and the stresses of poverty and hence putting the onus of the grades on a teacher is completely irrelevant.…

This is not a cool thing to do. This is like if you did all the work for someone on a test, but instead of you getting the A, the other person gets the A. See, your probably thinking that is it not fair because it isn’t. An example is of the college football national championship bowl game. The players are the ones that get the winning record and stuff, but by just making it to the bowl game, the school makes on average 7.4 million dollars. That’s not even if you win either. Even the coaches get an average of two hundred and fifty thousand dollars along with their paycheck by just making it to a college sport championship. I mean it wouldn’t hurt to pay the players something like two thousand dollars. On a football team there are about sixty players so that's one hundred twenty thousand dollars. Compared to seven million that's nothing. Sure people might say things like:If you pay college player, they might spend their money on dumb things like liquor and maybe drugs. If you are thinking something like, I assure you that will not happen. I remember my Dad saying that there are no idiots in college. If you do something like that, and they test you for drugs and the test is positive, then you could get suspended or maybe kicked off of the team. This is why you could at least give players a small portion of the school's earnings.…

Student athletes in college should not get paid as much as professionals but a smaller portion would be appreciated. The small portion would help the student athletes a lot with tuition if they have to pay for school. If they don’t have to pay for tuition and have full ride scholarships then it would help them pay for classes and books for those classes. One more thing that that small amount of money the student athletes should be paid would help with is not having to work or have another job off campus or away from the college the student athlete is attending. In the end, there are no question that the colleges should pay their…

Adolescents, who are most likely seeking money than education, will no longer try to challenge themselves and enroll in easier classes just to get the money from the easy A. According to Mary Ellen Flannery’s article “Cash for Grades?” she writes that money rewards prevents students from becoming successful in the future because of this. Similarly, in another article it is written by the author that the cash for grades programs do lead to less motivation put onto kids to do better in school (Peterson). No argument can be made about this because students that do not challenge themselves should not be rewarded and if money rewards are given out. If so, no students would be recognized because none would enroll in Honors or AP courses that have a more rigorous curriculum compared to on-level classes which is what students will enroll in to get the rewards with less effort and time put into their own education. Education departments nationwide should abolish any cash for grades programs put in any schools for the bettering of the school’s reputation and students’…

When there is no money left in the process of this program, the motivation will not last. In “Paying Students to Get Good Grades” Christopher Peterson states that if there is no motivation, paying them is pointless (1). By this the author is stating that if students do not get the motivation they need for good grades, paying them will not help them. This is true because bribing people, especially minors, will only help them financially, not education wise. The author also states that “Children are given awards for what they spontaneously do; after some period of time,…

The topic states that the students’ academic performances are a deciding factor of their teacher’s salary. I believe that the teacher’s salary should be independent of the performance. I have two reasons to justify this. The first one is regarding the drawbacks of both the teacher & students face. This is to in order to point out the flaws in the policy. The second is disastrous implication that would happen if the claim is put into action. In both the cases I will incorporate a situation that will provide better explanation.…

Should good students be awarded and recognized more for their academics? Today in a wide variety of schools, students do not get awarded enough for their success in their studies. I believe that more schools, teachers, and principals should push for more rewards for their students and also give them the recognition they deserve. I believe that in our school, opening viking times and study halls for students with a grade average of a 3.5 or higher would serve as a huge benefit for our students and grades.…

Though there is support from psychological concepts for the implementation of merit pay increasing student achievements, there are also opposing arguments as to why merit pay would not help increase student performance. For example, educators cannot control who is assigned to their classes, and the motivation and ability of the students varies every year (Ramirez, 2011). The ability varies because of the different backgrounds the students come from which affects their intelligences, learning capabilities, and cognitive development. This variation makes it harder for the educators to accommodate for everyone’s needs to perform better. This shows that opposition believes that there are factors that the teachers have no control over in order to…
