Now in the first drive, chip and putt tournament ever I was turning in my scorecard as there was only one group left. 150 that was my final score, and I was leading the whole tournament. As the last last group came up I was having a flashback of all that I have done to get to this point and how hard it was to train for this and what I did this day that put me in the position i’m in right now. How much my parents have helped me get through to this and how much they contributed to this. This was a challenge but I managed to stay cool under pressure.
The final person turned in their scorecard and saw that I won 1st in every category. I defined drive, chip and putt by being the best at all of those in my category. I was so, so, so happy, they said Santiago Arredondo and that was probably my favorite time someone said my name. I was going through all the things I just did and how crazy that was that on my very first drive, chip and putt that I just flawlessly won. Everyone was amazed and was congratulating me, and my dad was ecstatic.
This was one of the most memorable moments of my life. It taught that no matter what you are facing you can always overcome it.
