I was able to learn many things about myself and this field as I got deeper into the healthcare world. I spent four summers volunteering for a Hospital near my house, and although it was not always the most pleasant experience it taught me valuable lessons that I will always carry with me through all my journeys through healthcare. All the things I saw, all the people gave me different perspective on what I was embarking on. Everyone you see at a hospital has a different story, whether they are a patient, family member, or staff. Everyone is telling a different story and different struggle. If you go in with a big heart and clear mind you could easily make a day of someone without you even knowing. This also taught me that you cannot be weak stomached. All the things you will encounter, and come across in health care can turn your stomach, but no matter the story and circumstance everyone should be treated with the same respect and care. But with a strong heart you will be able to treat anyone and anything you come across.
Through this journey I came across many different types of health care professionals and their field of work unique to them.
