High School Scholarship Essay

Assiduous, diligent, and passionate, these are three words my friends may use to describe me. I am very goal driven. Within my first meeting with my guidance counselor in 8th grade, she asked me what my plans for college were. I was very definitive in my answer, with my ingenuous expression I replied,"I will be valedictorian, and go to my dream school, The University of Chicago". my guidance counselor simpered in response to my ambitious goals; however, four years later I find myself here reflecting on my high school career with no regrets. My determined nature lead me to fulfill my dreams.I diligently worked day after day, and year after year, even after our school declared they would no longer have a valedictorian, I still worked for the spot, no
I have participated in four years of high school tennis, and gymnastics, and will begin a fourth year of track this coming month. One of my many idiosyncrasies is my ability to be a leader. I have been elected team captain for my gymnastics team for both my junior and senior year of high school, in addition to be captain of my track team my junior year. At the conclusion of my high school experience, I will graduate with 10 varsity letters: 2 in tennis, 4 in gymnastics, and 4 in track. Furthermore, I am the school record holder for pole vault. At the time of my freshman year, pole vault was not a popular event within Badger track. In fact, I was the only girl to join out of all four grades. To me this was only incentive to join. I have always enjoyed being unique. I found a challenge, unsurmountable to the majority of athletes at our school, due to its sheer lack of popularity, and I thrived. It became my favorite sport. The rush it brought me each time I cleared a new height was indescribable. From this, I have proven to both my peers, and myself, that I am able to tackle whatever it is I set my mind to, due to how determined I have
