The following are examples of Cpl. Snipes’ job knowledge in this area. Report #15-44486 occurred at 1705 E. Caravan #C. This incident involved a search warrant where the targets of the investigation had lengthy criminal histories involving weapons. Credible information was developed that indicated there were multiple weapons located inside the residence. This location was surrounded by a wooden privacy fence, housed several outbuildings, contained several surveillance cameras and had an unusual approach to the entry door that was hidden from view outside the privacy fence. Due to the listed information Cpl. Snipes and other team members conducted a scout of the residence after dark on the days preceding the service of the warrant. Cpl. Snipes completed an operations plan to serve the warrant that was safely and successfully implemented. Three subjects were ultimately arrested as a result of the…
While the Veteran went up in flames many sailors ran to the lifeboats or jumped ship then it finally blew. With the Benson fired at the submarine along with the other four ships. Soon they saw an explosion in the water. The Task Force stayed there while the freezing, soaking survivors climbed aboard. High Admiral Forest had been the first to jump ship. He heard the life scaring sound of a torpedo, grabbed his papers, put them in a waterproof case, ran onto the deck yelling abandon ship, and jumped overboard. When Forest climbed on board of the Benson he ordered a message be sent to High Command. The message stated, [i]"We desperately need one more task force.…
In order to best aid in the investigation I have chosen Deputy Johnson as my assistant lead investigator. While all good candidates for the job, Deputy Johnson has the skills required to be the best fit for the role. Not only has she been in law enforcement for a good enough length of time to get a working knowledge of the law, she also has worked in a detention center. This means she must have excellent paperwork skills and knows how to check if information is correct and dig out details.…
The directive was aimed at enhancing the capability of United States to efficiently manage domestic incidents by creating a single yet comprehensive national incident management plan. The directive gives the role of coordinating federal operations, responses, and recoveries from tourist attacks to the secretary of DHS. The directive mandated the secretary of the department of homeland security to establish the National Incident Management System, which supports interoperability and is compatible with all agencies of incident response (U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security, 2008).…
In Aberdeen when someone commits a crime, either felony or misdemeanor, they are usually prosecuted by the State of South Dakota. For example when someone gets their indictment, or other court paperwork, it should say at the top: State of South Dakota vs _________. Since the State is doing the prosecuting instead of the city or county, each county has their own state’s attorney’s office. This is similar to the materials discussed in class. In the book it refers to district or county attorneys; those prosecutors much like ours are elected, and prosecute crimes committed in that county. The Brown County State’s Attorney office currently has five lawyers, and four legal aids. One of those lawyers is the state’s attorney, one is the chief deputy, and the other three are regular deputy attorneys. An average salary for a state’s attorney is between $75,000-80,000; while the total budget for the whole office is approximately $700,000.…

Discuss the steps involved in developing a Homeland Security Plan and Budget after the Homeland Security Assessment of the organization has been completed.…
The Homeland Security Act of 2002 established the Department of Homeland Security in the wake of the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001. The Department of Homeland Security are wide-ranging, and their goal is clear: “A safer, more secure America, which is resilient against terrorism and other potential threats.” The three key concepts form the foundation of our national homeland security strategy designed to achieve this vision: The three are as follows 1) Security 2), Resilience 3), Custom and Exchange. These concepts drive broad areas of activity that the Quadrennial Homeland Security Review (QHSR) process defines as homeland security missions. It prevent, to protect, to respond, and recover, as well as to build in security, to ensure resilience, and to facilitate customs and exchange. The responsibility falls on hundreds of thousands of people from across the federal government, state, local, tribal, and territorial…
During high school, I committed most of my free time to my NJROTC unit and my 4-H club. In both of these organizations, community service, leadership, citizenship, and initiative are indispensable values that are essential to their functioning, and I like to think I have learned to embody these traits. In 4-H, I have attended, and then went on to teach, numerous leadership and group trainings. In NJROTC, I attended the Area 5 Leadership Academy, graduated as the Second Honor Cadet of the 2014 Academy, and was selected to be an Aide for the 2015 Academy. I held, or currently hold, leadership positions in both organizations and I feel I set a good example for my peers and subordinates. Through any task, I am enthusiastic about my job and…
One of the major responsibilities the President is known to have would be that of protecting the people. The Department of Homeland Security was established in response to the biggest terrorist attack on U.S. soil on September 11, 2001. This attack sparked the nation and caused fear among citizens as well as opening eyes of the government to how much stronger the security level had to be in the country. U.S. officials began to reconstruct the Office of Homeland Security once they recognized their shortcomings.…
In most stories one reads there is going to be a protagonist and an antagonist. The protagonist is the character in the story that is usually considered the good guy. The antagonist is usually considered the bad guy and clashes with the protagonist. In the story “Barn Burning” by William Faulkner he has a clear protagonist and antagonist. The protagonist of the story is Sarti. The antagonist of the story is Sarti’s father Abner. Faulkner makes this a very interesting story to read because of the relationship between Sarti and his father. Sarti shows us in the story how scared he is of his father through what he says and his actions. The idea of Sarti ever standing up to him just doesn’t seem possible until Sarti goes through a dramatic life change and decides he is going to stand up to him.…
One main reason that a Homeland Security Assessment needs to be conducted for an organization is to protect their infrastructure. The need for this assessment would be more crucial if an organization was identified as a high risk of being a potential target. Organizations that would fall under this umbrella would include but are not limited to “sea and water ports, airports, gas pipelines, sewer and power plants as well as biological or chemical facilities” (Fisher, 2014). In this day and time, we can also add educational facilities to this list, as there have been several attacks on universities that were believed to have been terrorist related.…
Since I was a small child, seven or eight years of age, my desire to be in law enforcement has remained strong. I have expired the searching of other careers, and come up short. As I grew older, I consulted with those I respect, seeking their wisdom in my career path. This choice had not been fashioned lightly. I am convinced, at this point in my life, serving as a law enforcement officer is my calling. My ability to serve our community and nation, as a law enforcement officer, is a great passion of mine. I am compelled to serve those around me, by protecting the innocent and carrying out justice to the guilty.…
This week in clinical I was assigned a patient with contact precaution. I had never taken care of a patient who was on contact precaution, so I became very terrified. I didn’t know what to expect. I walked into the room wearing my PPE, shaking and expecting for the patient to be miserable because they are in a room alone and everyone that meets them has to wear that yellow gown. To my surprise, the patient was opposite of what I was thinking. The patient’s positive attitude, small stories, and funny personality greatly helped in reducing my trepidations of working first time with contact precaution patient. We first took vital signs of the patient, then we did am care (bed bath and changing linens), and then we did a dressing change. My patient…
