Animals shouldn't be but are often treated as objects and are victims of fecund abuse and savage cruelty, I reckon that animals are worthy of moral consideration, that they shouldn't be abused by humans or be oppressed and humiliated due to them having less than the minimum of protection. Someone that may agree with my viewpoint is Victoria Braithwaite author of,” Hooked on a Myth”, she is a behavioral biologist who beliefs that fish are capable of feeling pain, that we need to probe deeper in order to completely understand animal suffering. Another trustworthy and ethical person that is for on extending more empathy to animals is Mr.Rifkin. For instance if you believe that it's not okay to eat a dog why would you eat a pig, dogs and pigs have the same capacity to feel pain. To prove Jeremy Rifkin says,” studies on pigs’ social behavior founded by McDonald’s at Purdue University, have found that they crave affection and are easily depressed if isolated or denied playtime with each other”. The sentiment expressed in the quotation, embodies the view that people's preconception is based on species, you consider one as a companion and think it's morally wrong to eat it but yet when you think of a pig you view it as dinner knowing it is an animal just like a dog that is capable of suffering as well as craving affection. Whether it's a pig, dog, bird or gorilla they have demonstrated that they are capable to learn, to do many things that humans can do, sometimes even better. To demonstrate Mr.Rifkin states that,”Koko the 300-pound gorilla at the gorilla foundation in Northern California, who was taught sign language and has mastered more than 1,000 signs and understands several thousand English words, on human IQ test, she scores between 70 and 95”. This is to say that not only are animals intellectual but they have the capacity to memorize what many humans fail to do. These animals need an Animal bill of rights and there not going to achieve it if we the dominant species don't speak up for them so there can be a better law enforcement that protects
