How Did Germany Achieve With The Treaty Of Versailles

After World War I was fought the Treaty of Versailles was created and signed. Several things were accomplished with this treaty; the main accomplishment, in my opinion, being the economically crippling reparations placed upon Germany. The first step in economically damaging Germany was by using this treaty to assign sole reasonability of causing World War I on the shoulders of Germany. By allocating the blame to all of Germany the victors could force Germany to accept responsibility for all the damage caused. Which inevitability obligated the Germans to pay to fix the damages that were accrued not only in their country but also in the countries that they fought against such as France. This would make it hard for Germans to focus on their own advancement because first they would have to pay off the vast amount of money that they were being mandated to pay to the victors.
As if being in debt to other countries was not enough, it was stated in the article that within Germany other counties could build canals and railroads in Germany at their own discretion and benefits. Now one might wonder how would this hurt Germany economically; however, what wasn’t stated was whether the Germans would be the ones to build these structures. Because if so there goes time and money to be spent on building back up their nation to making things that they possibly did not need at the time. Now to add insult to injury the allies then said that the rivers of Germany were to be controlled by an “international body” which had few German delegates.
