America has been considered great under many different circumstances. The Founding, the World Wars, and countless other achievements helped America become one of the most powerful and prosperous nations on the planet. When people think of America, they think of “American greatness.” The history of America shows spurts of greatness but has also shown the atrocities that are hidden in the past. During the founding slavery was present. During World War 2, America used nuclear bombs that forever changed the weapons of war. However, there must have been a change in the meaning of greatness, or what was great in America, during different periods in the United States because the country changed after the founding.
