In our 11th to 12th years of life, we have taken on more responsibilities on and off the middle school campus. Because our parents think we are old enough, they give us more chores than they did when we were in 5th grade. They say “the older we are, the more freedom we get,” but with increased freedom comes great responsibility. We have to keep track of all of our papers for 8 different classes. all have to work hard to keep our school materials organized. Locker combinations are an additional responsibility that students have to manage. They can be hard to remember with all of the junk we have in our brains. Also, it is important for us to keep our lockers organized so we can find things in a hurry. This shows that more responsibilities arise when we travel from elementary to middle school.
With a fresh set of new faces at a new school comes a new set of friends.
People+people=friends . The more people you know, the more friendships possible. We also lose friends, some friends don't stay as loyal as others. Some people start to care about popularity instead, then they get caught up in it too much instead of being good quality friends. There are so many fascinating stories in this world. Why not be friendly and share them with others. Sometimes talking to someone makes their day. Friends are like waves; they wash up, then go back into the sea.
The amount and difficulty of schoolwork magnifies when we transition from fifth to sixth grade. The homework now takes around 40 minutes instead of 5 minutes, like it did last year. More thinking time taxes our brains. We also have to check H.A.C. consistently, so we can keep up with our grades. This is very time consuming, because in elementary school, we didn't have Home Access Center, but now it's time taken out of our day. Lastly, we have eight periods everyday. This means eight teachers, so when classes like math and social studies give out lots of homework, we get stressed
out.
After the transition into middle school, I have become more responsible, met new friends, and have had tons of homework. This transition will guide me through life, because of the skills I have developed.
