How To Write A Group Reflection Paper
Fort Fights Cancer Week was a project I had to take on by myself the past year. It’s an event that Fort Osage High School puts on to raise money for cancer. Everything was on me including the end result, whether that be a success or a failure that would teach me something in the process. I helped organize it in the past, as well as other events like such, but never had I taken something like that on by myself with no help from really anyone. My teacher informed me that she wanted to change the organization we would donate to due to poor experience with the organization we had been working with in the past. This started the long process of the event in the school year prior to the event.
I didn’t receive much direction from my teacher other than she wanted the money to go to local children, so it meant to me that I had to do some research and see what I could find that would fit the small description she gave me. After a couple hours of research I had finally found an organization that worked, which I then figured out that meant I needed to email the organization to discuss what it was we were doing and to make sure the organization would be willing to collaborate with us and allow us to donate all of our proceeds to

Coming into the next school year to work on this project was a hard thing to do for me. Right when we came back we were split into homecoming committees, ultimately meaning I would have to work on the project entirely outside of class on top of trying to balance classes, work, National Honor Society, being a football trainer, and being a homecoming chairperson. Just the simple thought of this stressed me out, and at some points I thought I wouldn’t be able to take this all on by myself, it was a lot to try to balance at one time and would take a lot of self motivation overall to get the job done, but I knew in the back of my mind that I had

We Americans have a comfortable lifestyle, for the most part. A large part of being comfortable comes from the use of natural resources. Freon keeps your refrigerators and homes cool in the summer. Liquid propane, kerosene, and other natural gases keep your houses warm in the winter. Oil is used for so many products it is mindboggling. Not only is it used to create the gasoline, jet fuel, diesel, and other fuels to propel our transportation, but is used to lubricate those engines as well. It’s not just transportation engines it is used to lubricate; it is used…

The famed Medici family of Florence produced 4 Popes, 3 queen regents of France, and engaged in countless acts of assassination and subterfuge. This was representative of the Italian society where Baldassare Castiglione wrote his masterwork, The Book of the Courtier. Italian politics and culture was shaped by the fact that Italy consisted of many autonomous city states that each had their own royal courts, standing armies, cultures, and rulers. This divisiveness in politics helped to foster an extremely stratified society in regards to class and gender. This social stratification causes Castiglione’s definition of the perfect courtier to differ immensely from his definition of the perfect Court woman, and it causes the characteristics of his…

We started to collect money all around the school during breakfast and lunch; we called the movement “Drop in the Bucket”. We raised 2,018.5 dollars on the first week which was significant; the movement grew gradually week after week until one day, I decided to expand it. I realized that a material could be recycled to provide the perfect shelter for Haiti like the vinyl tarps that are used for outdoor advertising. Some tarps measures more than 75 feet in length and can provide excellent shelters. We were able to ship a set of tarps in the mid February. With the Sacred Heart delivery, nearly 10,000 square feet of shelter have been provided utilizing the recycled material. We also created a “Food and Toiletries Drive” where students were able to drop non-refrigerated food and bathroom utilities materials in the Media Center at any time. Fundraisings were also included, for purchasing toys, educational books, sleeping bags, batteries and many other utilities. I figured that Haiti might not retrieve in one, two, three or maybe ten years, but my goal as a native Haitian was to try the best of my capability to aid as much as…

I was elected as the president of Interact Club during my second year as a result of my dedication and passion to the volunteer services of this organization. Within my school, I advocated and promoted the importance of offering hands-on service projects to local communities. As the leader, I delegated responsibilities to each member of my organization based on their strengths in order to maximize my group’s efficiency in completing the tasks at hand. I initiated an Interact event that involved the volunteers from my region to in collaborate and build a grand Rose float to showcase at the Tournament of Roses Parade. I felt a sense of gratification and accomplishment as the coordinator of this event for directing the members into diligently working together to produce an impressive final float. My active involvement in the Interact organization led me to built upon my leadership and teamwork…

During my junior year the biggest event I had to plan was the social event for the battalion: military ball. The event was one eagerly looked forward to, and rightfully so, as it was always a blast with the cadets and fostered many memories that will last a lifetime. I took planning this event very seriously and in the end many told me that it was the best military ball to date. Several cadets came to me after the formalities had concluded and thanked me for putting in the time and effort to make military ball happen. Seeing their gratitude and smiles on their faces made me feel appreciated and I knew that all the hours I had put in and almost wanting to tear my hair out in frustration had not gone in vain. During my senior year, another crucial event within the program changed. The criteria for our annual inspection had been altered drastically and we had to start from scratch will almost everything. This inspection is what JROTC works toward the entire school year, due to the fact that if a program receives a low score a certain amount of times, then the program can be disbanded. I, along with my staff, worked for months making sure that we had everything we needed and that our presentation was the best it could be. When the day of inspection finally came around, our hard work paid off. The battalion received a perfect score and was officially the best JROTC program in the county. This was the first time since my high school JROTC program’s conception in 2000 that we had received a perfect score on the…

However, with the good times also came the bad times in school projects. Perhaps the project I am least proud of or could have been better was the trigonometric modeling project for my math analysis class. It's not the fact that the project wasn't fun or even hard, but because it was too straightforward and dull ,in terms of creativity, I did not find it to be the best project. The standards were so easy to meet that to do the project was perhaps one of the easiest tasks anyone could have done their junior year. I’m the type of individual to find joy in a challenge and when one isn’t provided I lack the enthusiasm to do…

My task was to look after the Southern European and Emerging Markets and organise and book familiarization trips for them. I was looking after and managing the budget allocated for the fam trips as well I had to make sure that the experience delivered to those tour operators was matching every specific market expectations. It was also down to me to match the appropriate Scottish suppliers with the right delegates (I had to extensively got to know the companies’ profiles to know what sort of products/services they were looking for/selling to their clients). Therefore, I had to learn how to skilfully negotiate beneficial conditions for myself without compromising the quality of the delegates’ experience and still making sure that the Scottish trade will benefit from their visit and that each delegate will find a potential partner that they will then work closely with. I also had to work closely with my colleagues who are in charge of these markets to find out what the delegates who are attending the trip are looking for to make sure that the trip is tailor-made to them and that I introduce right buyers to appropriate Scottish suppliers.…

My first objective in leading the team to achieve success and run like a will oiled machine would be to decide what needs to be done and order to accomplish the tasks in. Next I would devise a plan of action to lead the team in a particular direction based on objectives established by superiors. Policies would be established or enforced to help the group stay on target. Continually plan ahead focusing on all possible scenarios, aspects, and possible crises to help be prepared and revise and adjust plans as necessary. The revision of my plans would enable me to enact a change of action, by selecting alternative solutions to the problems as they arise.…

Every Wednesday, there was an FFA meeting hosted by me to inform members about the blood drive and if they wanted to volunteer throughout the day to help. There was a list created and sent to the office and faculty to inform them who would be out of class and where they would be. Two days before the blood drive, wristbands with the time and date were delivered by me not only as a reminder for students, but also as a pass to the faculty to get them out of class for their donation. Faculty was also emailed a list of all donors and times. The day of my blood drive, tables and chairs needed to be set up in the gym. By arriving at the school at 7:30 am, the gym was ready to rock and roll for the American Red Cross staff who arrived at 8 am. We helped unload their equipment. A list was printed out and posted in the gym for all students who needed another reminder of when they are donating and also for the students who were volunteering throughout the day. Once the drive started at 9am, donors needed to be checked in, told where to sit, and then once the drawing of the blood started, we need to talk to the donors and check in on them to make sure they are doing…

He told me I would need to make a presentation to present to the head of school, principle, and dean of students. The day after I presented they said in order to go through with my idea, I would need to find an administrator or a teacher at the school who would be willing to be the coach of the team. Immediately, I thought to ask the baseball coach. The baseball coach told me he would be willing to coach the girl’s softball team if I showed him commitment and dedication by being the varsity baseball manager for an entire season. He was trying to prove a point that I would not be able to stick with something. I showed him differently. After a year of being the baseball manager, I proudly proved to him that I was willing and able to put one hundred percent effort into the team. I thought the hard part was over until we ran into an issue; finding players. I previously assumed that I would put up a sign up sheet for the softball team and girls would be signing up left and right. It was completely opposite. It took an entire month to find enough players. After getting the school to sign off on the team, finding a coaching staff, and talking enough players into playing, several doctors and multiple physical therapists suggested against me participating in the sport because of nerve damage in ankle and shoulder and because my shoulder joint is loose. Even though the doctors told…

As a four sport athlete (football, hockey, baseball, and track), I have endured my ups and downs with sports teams, but nothing compares to the adversity, leadership, and courage I had to muster up in the 2015 football season. The 2015 season looked bright for the hilltoppers, coming off three successful seasons, where I started and helped our football team win many games. I was a co-captain my Junior year and all-conference, so I was really looking forward to taking the reigns and becoming the true leader of our football team. However, the season was a disaster on paper at best. We went 0-9 and competed at a high level in 3 of those games. The day of our fourth football game, only 30 minutes prior to getting on the bus, my stomach started…

I created the Humanitarian Club to promote global issues in my school and also to promote Special Education inclusion. After drafting a proposal, I went through my school's principal and got approval to submit it to the school board. My club got approved by the school board and ever since then, we've made a huge impact on the community. Last year we made 118 Operation Christmas boxes that were sent around the world. Some other projects include promoting inclusion with our Special Ed children by participating in Special Olympics sporting events, philanthropy work for community improvements such as a much needed guardrail to prevent more deaths, and animal welfare events to promote spaying and neutering. The club has benefited the Special Education…

The next day, I went to my teacher and told her that I deserved to be on the A team. As a young sixth grader, I wasn’t aware that you were not supposed to ask to be on a team. Unsurprisingly, I was told that there was always “next year” and that I would do “great” on the B team. Being so young, I was impatient and couldn’t wait until next year. But after re-interpreting the situation (and a day of complaining), I learned a crucial lesson: Not everything is under my control, especially critical decisions. So, I waited. I focused to strive on the B team, so the next year, I would have greater chance at making the A team. And, amazingly, I…
