I Love Monologue

A special thank you for reading this boring story.a second thank you goes out to my good friend edgar sandoval for his help with this boring story.

The year is 2001.march 23. Me and my two brothers AJ and Zack have been waiting for this day for three months. AJ has been very quiet today. Im mean sure he is normally quiet, but i think he is just nervous because today we are going sky diving. Zach keeps saying things like “ today you are gonna learn to fly”. Or “ don't be nervous, it’s only a 15,000 foot freefall.” It is nerve wrecking to think that in just four hours I'll be jumping out of a plane. I have a strong feeling I will never forget this day. I'm just glad i can do such an incredible thing with my family. We always have been kinda distant from each other. So this will be a great way for us to spend a day together. But we have never been close. Over the years we have grown apart. After dad died at age 82. AJ was given the house do to the will. He was the oldest. AJ is 25. Zach is 22 and im 19.

When we got there they gave me a class on skydiving. Teaching me all about the dangers. They even taught me what to do if my parachute fails to open. But i didn't pay much attention to the class. Seriously what can go wrong. Parachutes are made to open. And there is a safety crew. So i just kinda zoned out for the safety class. Then i hear them say it is time to go diving from the heavens. Me and a few people are told to head to the runway I get in the plane. the plane is a beautiful candy red with a green tip. It looked like one of them stunt planes you see at the air shows, or on tv. I am handed a blue backpack. so I put on the bag that contains my parachute. They tell us not to jump until they give us the single. Then just five minutes later we get the green light. My brother AJ jumps out first. Second to jump out is my brother Zach. Then i leap out of the plane after

I was eventually led to the aircraft elevator and as we went up, we were graced with an ice cold, seawater shower being fired at us from several fire hoses above. Cold and shivering, we reached the flight deck and were led to the beginning of a long gauntlet of several challenges we were to complete. Bobbing for apples in tubs of some nasty liquid, jumping through “polly-hoops,” “polly-sliding” down a long wet plastic slip n’ slide—the course went on and on. We filled through the course, one after another, each needing to complete each task before crawling to the next. I went from the bow to the stern, trudging my way through each before I came to a large tub, ten feet long, filled with green-dyed water.…

For me this is the scary experience because I have a kid in my chalk that is not even trained yet. It is my responsibility to protect him at all costs. If I make the wrong calls all of us could die, and I do not think I will be able to live with myself if my team died because of me. I have been praying all day that nothing goes wrong, and this turns out to be a simple snatch and grab mission, going all according to plan. The plane is taking off and I have never been this nervous or scared in my life.…

I have no prior piloting knowledge or experience, but I am going to jump straight into a pilot seat and take off. I think I have gone insane. Not only am I about to take the biggest risk of my life, I have also been stuck in the same car with the three most insane human beings on this planet. After two more gruesome hours of nonstop travel, we finally arrived to Ferdinand’s property; a large worn down home and a little further, a newly renovated Cessna 172 by a rugged looking short runway. This is it, it is going to…

Throughout Douglas Adams’ The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy a number of satirical techniques are used to question and condemn often serious and controversial targets of satire. The vices and follies of Arthur Dent- the main character and representative of the human race throughout the novel- are exposed and ridiculed for the entirety of the story. Within the novel, politics, in particular bureaucracy is a target of satire, especially so regarding the unpleasant race of the Vogons. Skilfully, Douglas Adams manages to address religion in an inoffensive manner using horatian satire, highlighting the inconsistencies and faults in religious ideas, and existential questions. With his targets of satire Adams manages not only to entertain, but to enlighten the reader; allowing them to identify a the trivial side of many serious issues and aiding them in thinking from an atypical perspective through the medium that is The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy.…

Because I was at the back, I couldn't tell what was going on in the first class section. Three people with red bandannas entered the cockpit. The had left one person outside of the cockpit who was holding something in his hand. After a minute or so, they came back out of the cockpit dragging two bodies behind them. They went back in the cockpit and within a minute we were told from the new pilot that they had a bomb on board. They allowed us to make phone calls. I was the first one to be able to make a call. My parents didn't pick up the phone, so I left a message telling them that my plane had been hijacked. After I left a message, I sat down in my seat and let others…

There are several stages a beginner will go though until their first jump without an instructor. First let me tell you about the training that I went though in my quest to fulfill my childhood dreams. Since I had been trained in basic airborne operations (static line jumps) this made an easier to transition into skydiving operations for the instructors. The initial training begins with what we call tabletop drills. An instructor places everyone on a tabletop and talks you though the basic movements techniques that you will perform in the air. This is where you learn basic turns, flips, formations, rolls and other various drills. The next step you learn is how to pack and inspect your parachute in less than five minutes. The vertical wind tunnel is the second phase of training you go though in order to practice you tabletop drills before you actually perform a real jump. Once you have demonstrated your skill to an instructor that you can perform the entire basic task only then will you be allowed to move onto the last phase of training. The last phase of training is jumping out of an aircraft up to 12,500 feet above sea level. Your first jump an instructor hangs on to you while you exit the aircraft to ensure you stabilize yourself in the air. One you have done this he lets go and instructs you to perform the basic task you learned earlier, while grading you on your…

Firstly, I would never in my life go skydiving because I am not an adventurous person. I am absolutely aghast of heights. I refuse to sometimes to go on rollercoasters depending on the height of it. I have researched skydiving just to look into it and there were some stories about people dying because their parachute had just suddenly stopped working. Of course if the parachute didn’t pull out, you would have just fall with your weight and the density of the wind. I have no personal experience because I have never nor will I ever go skydiving.…

When I was young I always dreamed of flying on a plane. Finally, my dream was coming true, and I was on my way to the USA where I had always known I would end up. This was my first trip on an airplane, and it was also one of the most memorable experiences of my life. I remember everything about my first flight, and it was a lot to remember since it took twenty-seven hours from start to finish. The fight did have one stop in Japan, but that was just to change planes. Once my parents and I got onto the plane and sat down, I started to look at everything around me. I noticed the small white air vents right above my head with little lights next to the vent. It was so great because the controls were right on my armrest. There was a place on the armrest to plug the headphones in in order to listen to music or watch a movie. After everyone got settled into their seats, the airhostess came over the intercom and explained all of the safety procedures. But I am going to tell you; I couldn’t understand what they say, besides staring at their body language. They also showed everyone how to put the seat belts on correctly. After the airhostess was done with…

I hated peanut butter and now the plane would smell like peanut butter for forever, great. “No thank you,” I sighed as I wiped the mixture of spit and peanut butter off of my face. I stood up and looked around me, hoping to find an escape from all of this absurdity. Then I saw it, in the front right corner of the plane was a small, blue box with some faint, illegible writing. I walked over to the box and noticed it was a parachute. An epiphany came across my body as I realized that this was my chance to depart from the plane. I immediately took possession of the parachute, opened the emergency exit, closed my eyes, and jumped out of the plane. I heard a loud thump and slowly opened my eyes. The sight around me was not the crummy, rickety plane, but instead, it was an old helicopter. Just as I thought things could not get worse, they…
