Even up to this moment right now, I have always seen myself growing up to be some kind of medical professional, but only recently have I decided that the road to becoming a doctor was one too long and too rigorous for me. Because of this realization, I believe a physician assistant would be a good career for me. As a PA, I will still be able to help people but I won’t have to sacrifice what I feel is a large portion of my life. Physician assistants will do a lot of things doctors do, such as, “diagnosing and treating illnesses, performing physical examinations, assisting in surgeries, making rounds in hospitals, and performing assigned tasks during a procedure,” (Learn How To Become 1). In order to become a PA, you need to first earn a bachelor’s degree, and then you may earn a master’s degree in a physician assistant program. While I believe earning a master’s degree after my bachelors will be a good path for me to take, it should also be noted that the program I hope to attend (as well as most of the other ones available) require a certain amount of hours of hands-on medical experience. By then, I feel I will be a well-established physician assistant, but I will still enjoy my job since there are so many different things that could happen on a day-to-day basis. I’ll also meet new people and probably be able to move to whatever state I want since the job outlook is increasing. I might also be married with kids, and while a career as a doctor would put a strain on my personal relationships, my potential job as a PA will ensure that I am able to spend time with my family. Also, by the time I am this age, I hope to have some money saved up so I can travel the world. After my vacation, I am sure I will still be excited to get back to work as a physician
