EDU675: Change Leadership for Differentiated Educational Environment
Dr. Carl Beyer

Implementing the Professional Learning Community The four activities that I proposed in my discussion of professional learning communities were assistive technology training/workshops, collaboration, differentiation, and observation. Each of these activities are things that can definitely be implemented in a future position.
First of all, assistive technology is extremely important to today’s educational environment. All teachers should be aware of the technologies available to them, and should all know how to use the technologies that they currently have. Training on all available technologies is vital to ensure that the teachers are actually using them. Implementing training could be done many different ways. It could be as little as one on one training, or as big as school-wide training workshops. Regardless of how teachers are trained, it is important that they are. I would personally take time to show fellow teachers how to use the assistive technology devices, and explain the benefits as well.

In a future position within an organization, I hope to have the chance to collaborate with fellow teachers. I am a firm believer in the notion that “two heads are better than one” and I feel that all teachers should collaborate on certain topics. Collaborating is something that can be done during work hours, or even on our own time. All it takes is simply asking a fellow teacher to help brainstorm ideas, or work on a project, etc. Administrators could force collaboration, if they find it necessary to do so. They could require teachers to work together on certain

Team work is essential for the school curriculum to be taught across the school starting with the head teacher down to the TA. Another benefit of teamwork is that the teacher can divide the work out between the members of the team. This enables the individuals to concentrate on their specific duties that will contribute to the teacher’s lesson plan. This gets the job done faster. Communication / sharing ideas become an important aspect of teamwork, so the whole team can see the class progress steadily to its goals.…

Teachers collaborate with each other for many reasons. It helps us share ideas and learn from one another, hopefully gathering new ideas to try within your own classroom to keep students engaged in the learning. At my student teaching placement, there are certain days built into our schedule where we are able to meet and discuss important topics and to evaluate our teaching together as a team. This meets twice a week. At these meetings all push in support are present as well as the classroom teachers. At other schools, teachers use practices such as co-teaching to teach subjects that they feel strongest or most comfortable in. Teachers are always working together for the benefit of students; planning, supporting, collaborating. I plan to work with my fellow teachers, and treat them like the valuable professional resource they’ve worked so hard to…

There are many types of systems and support formats for professional development. A thorough induction from the beginning of employment or placement can highlight possible future training requirements and the staff handbook with policies and procedures can be issued. Once an induction is completed the member of staff will have several sit down meetings during the 90 day trial period, this will allow time to organise any gaps in training, allow the staff member/ volunteer or student to familiarise themselves with the routine and setting and acquire any relevant paper work.…

In article from the Adaptive Technologies for Learning and Work Environments The first device I will discuss helps people with vision impairment is the magnification software this software helps people with vision problems to see words and text better. I think their should be no problem for a student using this device I think once and student is show how to use it, it should be easy to use. I think that the magnification software will help in the classroom by having to student to be able to read text through text books and the teacher can print out what they will write on the board doing class so the person who is using the magnification software can follow along doing the lecture. The next thing I will talk about is the Electronic Braille note-taker which is a device with numerous functionalities used to input, store, and output text either in Braille or print. The newest devices store various types of files using internal drives or memory cards. They also have internet capabilities. I think that problem with this could be that using it for student may be hard at first it they are not use to using electronic devices. I think that this will help in the classroom by just making easier for the student to talk notes and they can also access the internet easier and by themselves it may help them stay more on point with what is going on and get it notes done more easier and quicker so that they can follow along with the class more easier and stay on takes more. The next thing I will talk…

I feel it is important for me to continually improve my knowledge to ensure that I am aware of and follow all the current health and social care standards, legislation, and guidelines for good practice as well ensuring I follow my company’s policies and procedures. I feel it is vital that I pass any new knowledge to my team because this provides them with up to date information in order for them to carry out their roles as support workers to a high standard and effectively. For example my organisation has just changed the care plans, supervision and appraisal format which I have had regular training to upskill my knowledge to pass on to my staff. Potential barriers can be a fear of a classroom situation, lack of confidence in learning, lack of time because of high workload, motivation, also lack of funding especially in Wales I have personally experienced this when applying to undertake courses for distance learning. A barrier can also be a high turnover of staffing or lack of staffing due to long term sickness. Also some staff fear developing professionally due to personal reasons. They may feel inferior due to age, gender, sexuality, beliefs or even maybe dyslexia. A fear of not being included within the workplace can lead to allegations of non-equality, avoidance of diversity, and this can then lead to staff not being happy in their role. The potential barriers are very complex and all aspects need considering in order to reduce or remove barriers to have effective working and development. There are many different sources you can have for professional development you can discuss these in supervisions and appraisals, in our organisation they provide mandatory training, you can also suggest training you feel would benefit staff to enable them to upgrade our practice. We have regular seminars to update our practice. Distance learning outside of the organisation is another way of expanding…

To be able to continue their education, nurses will be able to build clinical competency, acquir knowledge and develop new skills (St. Vincent, 2012).…
