While we are grateful for our freedom, we are are extremely appreciative of our troops. I have an older brother in the Army at a base across the country. I understand the hardships families face when they must let go of a loved one. Though difficult, letting them go is the right thing to do. In America, we have days of celebration such as Memorial Day and Veterans Day to give thanks and to remember the people who have fought for this glorious nation. They shaped the nation I live in today, and they will never be forgotten for that.
This is a country in which bravery overcomes. People go out of their way to protect others, and that is a very courageous thing. The United States is a place where people can be whatever race, sexuality, or religion they want without being discriminated for being who they are. This country is forgiving, free, and beautiful, just as it should be. That is the America I believe
