Incivility Everywhere

Have you ever noticed when you go out in public you tend to run in to people who are just naturally uncivil or impolite to one another? In today’s society, it’s common that one would be affected by incivility in their day-to-day life. Incivility takes place with all age groups, and with a variety of people. Sadly, incivility occurs within school systems, workplaces, and pretty much everywhere else. Incivility can be from people having a bad day, or if one is just going through a rough patch in their life. However that doesn’t matter if your acting bitter to someone for no reason. Incivility occurs daily within the school system. Lisa Freeman, who is a anti-bullying expert and motivational speaker found that, 1 out of 7 kids are bullied on a regular every day basis and that 41% of all teens are pressured to be mean to others. Incivility is the condition of being uncivil, while a bully is an overbearing person who habitually badgers and intimidates smaller or weaker people. This means that bullying is a living form of incivility. Many students suffer from bullying and having to deal with these uncivil acts towards them. We have all seen the weaker and less popular child get beat up by the powerful jock. No one stops the jock, but instead encourages him to continue to hurt and humiliate the weaker child. Incivility not only occurs with younger age groups, but it also carries on at workplaces, especially now-a-days while technology is evolving. In my personal experience, I remember when I first started working; my supervisor would always make fun of this male coworker because he was less productive than other workers. Instead of firing him, his supervisor would make fun of him, and said she was keeping him around just so she could get a good laugh if she was having a bad day. It was bad enough that she was making fun of him verbally, but she would also Photoshop pictures of him and send it to all of the coworkers. I noticed that people were laughing with her,
