While she is at a prime for her competing (age 19), she has furthermore added a 1.5 difficulty rating to her overall floor, beam, and bar routines in the passing years. Within the sport of gymnastics, athletes are constantly, individually, being judged within competing. However, it is just as important, if not more, to be judged on your practice abilities as it is your competition. In doing so, it allows for a valid and reliable method to be put in place that allows gymnasts to achieve an injury free atmosphere. Within the realm of gymnastics, there is no one defined muscle group that reigns over another, or that you can specifically hone in on. It is a sport that is truly an all-around sport and entails a great deal of skill as well as physical fitness. For instance her wanting to become better at the uneven bars would not only entail practicing this event, but also working on upper body strength a great deal. More so, she would really want to focus on her rotator cuff mobility as this will be readily used throughout the routine. As earlier stated, she has also previously struggled with flexibility, so it would be important to keep that as part of a daily routine as well since this comes across as something she has to work twice as hard at to maintain, By improving the areas she may struggle with, and maintaining the areas she advances at, it would also give her a higher probability of being recognized by the Olympics which she has stated as being a top goal for her future.
