As I watched episode 1 the Pilot episode I looked at the characters that exemplified the most interpersonal communication traits in my opinion those characters included Emma and Leo. I choose those two characters because they demonstrated what could happen if you once had perceptive interpersonal communication and then having it transformed into a down spiral of an agonistic relationship. In a sense Leo and Emma relationship displays the concept of “symmetrical relationship”. Their relationship displayed symmetrical concept because both of them were interacted in agonistic relationship when Leo was asked by his teacher to interrupt the character Catherine relationship with Henry from Shakespeare’s Henry V and Leo’s reply that they are hot for each other and because he states that Emma respond to that in an indifference of opinion. As I analyzed Emma and Leo’s relationship I compared it to the “Johari Windows of Different Structure” because both of them experienced the notion of self-growth while one or more of their other self’s shrink. In Leo case he became more open about his blind self that he kept buried because of the pain of going through cancer and losing his leg. This affected him mentally placing him in a dark place until he realizes that he still has hope and aspiration to get better because of the support of his friends that were helping him get over his physical loss of his leg. While in Emma's case she shows part of her open self that everyone knows when she tries to get over her eating disorder by cheating her weight in because she wants things in her life to get back to the way they previously were in her life. Emma and Leo character traits shows how interpersonal communication can be either a positive or negative interaction between two
