Introduction:
Hello, today I am going to talk about something I feel is very important and serious. In Jamaica working all day and going home to work more can be very stressful and angering. Still, is that an excuse to go home and beat your child? No, I know it is not. Child abuse is an issue today and needs to be stopped.
There are persons in our society today who thinks that bad people out there who do this in the world. and it can be both physically or mentally and we are practically letting the children of not only in Jamaica but worldwide getting beaten by abusive parents. Children are afraid to speak out for help which is ridiculous. Children can feel threatened if they say a word about how they are abused by others. People are trying to catch abusers in a few ways. One is by close observation at home by a suspicious or concerned family members or teacher and guidance counselor at school asking pertinent questions to affected children asking for help.
The question abusers need to think about is what are they actually doing to a Child’s future? They are ruining lives of children the future of the world. Who wants the world to be filled with dull and sad people? Beating a child teaches them nothing. It only influences and supports violence towards that child, making them think its okay when it’s definitely not.
Child abuse has its long term effects too such as mental illnesses or emotional disorders. Illnesses such as schizophrenia are more occurring in children who were or are abused or bullied. As a child, is it really worth it? No child deserves to be depressed the first couple years of their young life. They should not feel unwanted or unloved by their own family member or members. They should have a peaceful and nice first part of their lives.
In an article written by James W Prescot you can see how big an issue child abuse is:
“The extreme of child abuse is murder’.
